I've never had this many problems with a software update. Certain apps won't update or sync and now everytime I try to sync my iPhone it either completely doesn't work or my iPhone reboots halfway through the sync and iTunes stops responding and I have to force quit. I'm frustrated.

I can now share purchased Apps with my wife's iPhone! Anyone else notice this?
I know this did not work on the 7.7 because I tried it after I bought my first App.
Hey there... the strings trick works a bit differently for iTunes 7.7.1 - they added a new preference for disabling "automatic" backups, leaving the manual backup option available. its apples stupid fault for not setting up a system to backup app preferences which would take 15 seconds tops... and having to copy back the whole app over itunes.
im hoping firmware 2.1 fixes the majority of problems. *crosses fingers*
This update completely destroyed my iTunes library and my iPhone 3G. I was forced to completely rebuild my library and reset my iPhone 3G. Check it out http://snurl.com/38b08

July 31 2008 at 11:11 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyJUST. PRESS. THE. X.
Seriously. You don't have to backup every time. Press the little "x" to the right of the backup status, and it will skip the backup and go to the sync.
It's not that much of a problem. I do it all the time. One click. Go for it.
New iTunes has killed my ability to Restore my iPhone. Hangs and never completes.
July 31 2008 at 10:41 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThis has fixed for me the problem where Apps purchased on the phone were not automatically showing up in iTunes. All the Apps purchased on the phone since the last sync now show up correctly in iTunes.
July 31 2008 at 9:57 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI wonder if anyone from Apple ever monitors the user feedback on the big Apple-related sites? You'd hope so.
Like many others, I have a bunch of sites in my newsreader, and I've never seen such a wave of anti-Apple sentiment across all of them like I've seen this past couple of weeks. Every move they make is being pulled apart and criticised.
I'm not talking about the posts from the sites themselves, which are predictably biased, but from the real users in the comments.
It's completely understandable - I've also given up on Mobile Me and am exclusively using Gmail and Google Calendar at the moment. I just hope the management at Apple care about what they're doing to their user base - it sure doesn't feel that way at the moment.
