More rumored details of iTunes 9 emerge
Meanwhile, AppleInsider is reporting that Apple will make a broader push into social media, instead of just providing iTunes integration, by releasing a separate "Social" application (it's not yet clear if it's for Mac, iPhone, or both), providing the ability to update statuses and post info on music from their iTunes library on social networking services. Also, they do further confirm earlier rumors of iPhone app organization within iTunes, allowing users to sort by name, by genre, by date added, or to set arbitrary positions.

But will they improve the SEARCH feature in the iTunes Store to allow to search by label? That's what I really want to see.

"The War of the Words". The aim is to enlighten people to the fact that there are alternative sources for downloading music. Sources that - if people don't support them - might evaporate.

I just hope they rewrite it in cocoa for mac like they did the finder.

Making it link to social networking is so lame, we will need new words top describe this chump of a program, though I use it to manage all my music, i consider it and all apple native apps trash toys, and further evidence of the impending implosion and decline of apple....the new big brother who decides what you get and when....

e.g. support for enhanced AAC+ needs to be added.
Come on Apple. Don't forget your core purpose of iTunes -- playing music and videos!!
Bult-in flac and ogg support would be great.

That just doesn't make any sense at all.
They need to add more audiophile related software, better eq with maybe even room correction software so your computer can hear the sound being played and adjust to your rooms acoustics. Itunes was a way for kids to get there crappy 128 mp3s but now that they rule the music industry and people run huge libraries of music through them its time to step things up a bit with quality and stop with the gimmicks. Itunes is all about the tunes isn't it?
