Seinfeld back with the Mac in latest Curb episode

Didn't it seem like it was ages ago that those Microsoft commercials with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates commercials aired? You know, the one with the shopping for shoes, as well as the one with the duo bonding with a family. Don't remember? Well, apparently neither does Jerry Seinfeld, who was purportedly paid USD $10 million for the commercials.

In the latest episode of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm -- which happens to be one of my all time favorite shows -- Jerry is actively discussing ideas with Seinfeld creator, Larry David. In the scene, a MacBook Pro is prominently shown on Jerry's desk.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Can you please be more specific about "latest episode of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm". is it available on iTunes? Which episodes?

It's just like the big Microsoft store opening, where everyone lined up not to get MS products, but to get tickets to some rock concert. Jerry got paid megabucks to act in MS ads—that's what actors do. In real life, and on shows he controls in real life, he uses whatever he wants.

Whew, for a second there I was afraid Jerry was inactively discussing ideas with Larry...

Am I missing something? Or aren't both shows works of fiction? Do Americans really have that much difficulty telling the difference between reality, and TV/movies?

Perhaps so!

I thought the fastest and best Windows machine was a Mac...
There are some programs you just have to go over to the darkside to use.

OK, take a step back for a sec. I know we all (or most of us) here love our Macs far more than anything that ships with Windows, but the words "nobody uses PCs" don't make much sense in any context when Windows still has 90%+ share of all personal and business computers.

actually, the business market is about 70% of the market. that's huge. when it comes to actual PEOPLE, the 30%, Apple's 10% share in the US looks alot nicer.

Obviously those are just US numbers, reflecting the developed world's attitude towards Macs. I'm living in China, and hardly anyone has a Mac here. It's a developing country, that's why. They also steal lots of software and use 1997 computers. This is PC Country ;)

He did one of the HP ads when The Bee Movie was about to come out a couple years ago. He was quite clearly saying that he used a PC in that one. Not that I care and I have both a PC and a Mac myself so wouldn't put it past Seinfeld to have both as well.

If you watch the credits of Bee Movie, it was made on HP computers with AMD processors.
