'Christmas in Cupertino': because there isn't enough weird stuff on the web
You guys know I love combining Christmas and my Mac, but this is just plain weird. A Dutch Apple community website by the name of One More Thing has written and produced a Christmas song called 'Christmas in Cupertino'.The song was composed and recorded in two weeks with the 'famous Dutch singers' Sjarrel & Sjaan delivering the vocals. The song focuses on Steve Jobs and Phil Schiller in their activities in Cupertino in the 'dark days' before Christmas and ... pictures them 'dancing 'round the Apple tree'. If that's not weird enough for you, Steve Jobs's liver transplant is also mentioned. What's even crazier is that you can buy it on iTunes.
In fairness, due to Steve Jobs' call for more attention to organ donation at his keynote earlier this year, One More Thing will donate all proceeds from the song to de Dutch Liver Foundaction.
Netherlands, I've been to your country many times. It's so quaint, so charming, so full of life; and what can I say? This quirkiness/oddness just makes me love you guys even more. And, though I'm loathe to admit it, the song is kinda catchy.
So TUAW readers, for 99 cents why not buy the song [iTunes link], have a good laugh, and contribute to a great cause? Now, without further ado, I present to you the 'Christmas in Cupertino' music video (with subtitles).

Really, that song is a complete waste of time and broadband. Really... The charity aspect is good but really, couldn't they have come up with something better than that?
Whaha, nice to see so much other Dutch people on this english site! I never thought there would so much other Dutch people in here. Indeed I feel a bit ashamed.. These are, as "Jules Stoop", mentioned not typical Dutch singers ( luckly ). I still like the idea of supporting the Dutch liver Foundation!
Merry christmas greeting from Holland :)
Come on guys! I'm dutch. This is SO firmly tongue in cheek that it's actually quite likely the tongue might pierce the cheek.
Brighten up! It's humor, and there's nothing to be ashamed of. Actually more something to be proud of, with all proceeds going to the Maag Lever Darm Stichting (which means Stomach Liver Intestines Foundation, and although I agres that sounds a bit gross, it's a very respectable charity that sponsors research into and public information about diseases concerning these organs.
As an Apple fan I will most certainly buy the song, although I don't care much for the song musically.
Cheers!
Ever been to a COFFEESHOP in Amsterdam? I have and I can tell you a thing or two about the dutch and their COFFEESHOPS! First, they DON'T drink COFFEE. They sit around in stunned silence smoking hand rolled cigarettes. If that's not enough, you can't even get a cup of COFFEE in most joints. And then there's nothing to eat except BROWNIES, nasty chewy chocolate brownies that taste like they were made with WEEDS. And not a single cup of COFFEE to wash them down with! No wonder the Dutch can't sing.

But, rest assured, we also can make great music in this country. :)
Obviously we have a sense of humor, by the way, even the Germans have and they are our closest neighbours (

YES! The Dutch DO have a sense of humor!

If you want some Dutch quality music you might want to look up Pete Philly & Perquisite. God forbid they tried it in English, that would have sounded even worse. But then dutch people are a bit crazy sometimes but still 'sjarrel en sjaan' makes me vomit
