My First Apple and why it rocks
I got my first Apple computer about 4 years ago. I have always been into music production, photography, and anything creative, and I had heard from lots of people that Macs worked better then PC's when it came to these things. I ended up looking on Ebay for a few weeks and eventually bought a white 13" MacBook for about $700. I got it about a week later and there was instantly a problem. The person I purchased it from did not tell me that the CD drive did not work. It would not accept any CD I tried to put in. After many attempts to try to contact the seller, I decided to take it in to my local Apple store and see how much it would be to fix. This was my first time ever going into an Apple store and I was very surprised to learn that they had the Apple Geniuses, technicians on site at the store. I brought my computer up to them and showed them the problem I was having with the CD drive. The guy behind the counter typed in the serial number for my Mac and told me it was within its one year Apple Care warranty.
The next thing he said I was definitely not expecting. He told me because it was within its warranty they would replace the CD drive for free and it would be ready in about an hour. I was amazed! I've had computers before and never had this kind of service. When I came back to get my computer an hour later not only had they replaced the CD drive but also the keyboard which they said had a crack in it. They also explained to me that they had free workshops in the store throughout the week so that I could learn how to use all of the features on my Mac.
Over the next few weeks I ended up making many trips to the Apple store with my Mac and learned a lot from the free workshops. I learned how to use iPhoto to do some photo editing and make albums. I also learned how to make my own website using iWeb. I started bringing my Mac everywhere I went and started realizing that I could be doing so many things at once on my Mac and it never slowed down & never froze up. I used it for school to write papers and take on line classes in addition to using it for my business. I used it with Quickbooks to manage my business and used it to do audio mixing at my house. After spending my time using my MacBook I knew I would never go back to using a PC if I had the choice. Also realizing that Macs were 99 percent virus free gave me peace of mind. I never installed virus protection software and I never got a virus. I recommended many of my friends to mac as well. I told them about my amazing tech support experience and showed them my computer and all it could do.
Altogether I am very happy that I purchased my Apple computer. A year later I bought my second Apple computer. It is a Mac Pro desktop computer and I absolutely love it. I know from here on out I will continue to purchase Apple computers and refer all my friends and family to them.

Never-ending love.
My first exposure to Apple was in 1989, when I was working at the Milwaukee County Fiscal and Budget Office. The County Exec at that time was mad about Macs, had SE/30 units installed throughout his office. I had to sub for his receptionist and was supposed to use this little box to take and transmit phone messages. At that time I was completely baffled by the GUI--what's this trash can for?? :). Sometime later, Mac IIsi machines were installed in our office and one of the guys from the exec office introduced me to MacDraw so I could do org charts. What fun! I was hooked. I learned how to do financial spreadsheets and charts in Excel, when a budget analyst barked, "I need a chart and I'm gonna show you how to do it in Excel in 10 minutes!" I learned the basics of Excel in less than ten and produced the chart.
In 1992, I bought my first Mac, an LCIII, running OS 7.1, with an Apple color monitor, StyleWriter printer and keyboard/mouse. The whole package was almost $3,000. It had a 160 MB HD, 4 MB RAM and a floppy drive. 25 MHz! I was in heaven. Bought a Hayes 1200 modem. Internet was pretty complicated at that time, so for $9 a month, hopped on AOL for 5 hours access a month! WOW!
In 1994, bought a refurb UMAX PowerPC clone from SmallDog, my first unit w/a CD drive. It was a lemon (not necessarily SD's fault), and they replaced it. The second one worked fine, running 8.1, which I upgraded (I think) to 8.6. At that time, dumped AOL and braved the Internet, still on dialup.
A lucky lightning strike in 1998, and homeowners' insurance, allowed me to purchase a new, bright-red G3 iMac, w/a 9.5 gig HD, 233 MHz processor and 32 MB RAM, which I maxed to 192 MB. Got on DSL at that time. I still have this machine and it works fine. I plan to use it as a printer server.
I've since been through two iBooks, a refurb G3 through SmallDog, and a refurb G4 from Apple, and am now on a new MacBook, which I traded up to through PowerMax (got a GREAT trade-in price). Except for a logic board issue, they've all run like a champ. I have had AppleCare on all my laptops and I highly recommend it, as it has literally saved me over a thousand bucks. I plan on getting AppleCare for my current MacBook before its first year is up. Apple and I go back a long way. Between my MacBook and my second-gen iPod Touch, I'm one very happy camper and plan to stay with Apple and its products forever (or as long as I can afford)!
I bought my first Mac - a 512k and the original Apple Laserwriter in the Fall of 1984 to use in my print shop for basic typesetting. When the Plus came out the following year I bought one and converted my 512k into a Plus so as to have one for my wife to use. Many Macs since for both business and home.

One day in 1976 I went to Palo Alto to visit a Friend called Carlos Puleston
He had worked at Fairchild( most electronics engineers and Physicists worked at fairchild in those times . And there had met a lot of interesting people, so I told him I had seen this amazing computer that seemed much more sophisticated than the Altair 8008. so he took me to Byte shop on El Camino real and There I bought my first Apple II from there in my next trip I had already imported about 20 Apple II into Mexico so I told Carlos if he knew sombody at Apple and he said yes ,I know Mike Markula( one of the original venture capitalists) , so he made a date at TGI Fridays in the Cupertino area and Mike came with Steve Jobs( yes that Steve) we introduced ourselves and I told them about my idea of selling Apples in Mexico ,Steve told me if I wanted to be a distributor for Mexico and I (stupid I ) told him no, no I just want to be a dealer.
So i became the first Apple international dealer and service center( since Im an electronics engineer).
Today Im 67 and no longer deal in Apples , I just play with them ,but i still have one of my first apples toghether with all the other Apple computers I have had, I still program PIC microcomputers with macpic on my 68000 apple. so ther eyou have it
good evening to you all. )and no I never again talked to Steve Jobs)
