Yet another Mac OS X 10.6.3 seed released to developers

Mac OS X 10.6.3 Build 10D561 has been released to developers less than a week after the previous build. Not a great deal has changed since the last build -- iPhoneinCanada has the specific details on this latest build, which include refinements to OpenGL and 64-bit logic. Since this sixth 10.6.3 build follows so quickly after the last one, it's a good indication that an official release of 10.6.3 is imminent.

10.6.2 arrived on November 9, 2009, and, like the forthcoming 10.6.3, was primarily a bug fix update for Snow Leopard. 10.6.3 should be out any day now in Software Update complete with those always-informative release notes, including my favorite: "increases reliability and improves compatibility and security."

My Macbook Pro also got much faster going Tiger -> Snow Leopard, but frequent 30-second beachball freezes take away most of the fun. If 10.6.3 doesn't fix this I'll have to go back to Tiger.

I have not had any issues with Snow Leopard on my machines but I look forward to this update and would be happy if it optimizes the operating software even more.

Snow Leopard has been fantastic for me too. My 15" early 2006 MacBook Pro made the jump straight from Tiger to Snow Leopard, and it feels like I'm using a rocket in comparison. And my shiny brand new 13" unibody MacBook is extremely snappy as well. The 2.53 GHz processor and 4 gigs of RAM might help out just a little, but I have been beyond pleased with Snow Leopard and don't see the problems some others have.

I have high expectations regarding performance. I have a clean install of Snow Leopard on my iMac end Macbook Pro, and it's by far the worst Mac-experience I have ever had. It's so slow and I have seen enough beachballing for a life-time.

Been there with that mess. Not only that, but iTunes has had a lot of problems under Snow Leopard especially when it freezes causing your whole system to lock up.
