Apple releases software update for today's MacBook Pro refresh
Well, that didn't take long. Apple has already released a software update for the 15 and 17-inch MacBook Pro's that were released earlier today. MacBook Pro Software Update 1.3 is recommended for all 15 and 17-inch MacBook Pro mid 2010 models; it contains improvements for graphics stability (for high-performance video and gaming applications) as well as various bug fixes.

I'll wait for Ars Technica and MacWorld to properly performance test these revamped systems before I pony up the cash.
My local stores (Milwaukee, WI) got their shipments at noon.
Why do I know this? Cause this is being typed on my i7 15". Thanks for this post, I totally forgot to check software update. Will install once my iTunes library copies (in 2 hours...)
Don't leave us in suspense post a user report.

April 13 2010 at 7:09 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySo did anyone actually get their MBP yet? In my area, the retail store didn't get their shipment yet. :/
April 13 2010 at 6:48 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyBoth local retailers in the Raleigh-Durham area had the new MBPs in stock today. Unfortunately, not with the specs I convinced myself I needed, though. So... off to the online store I went.
April 13 2010 at 6:58 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWish my apple store would've gotten theirs. Heh, I had my money all ready to throw at Apple.
April 13 2010 at 7:12 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThat's a bit facking worrying.
April 13 2010 at 6:03 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyNot really. You have to consider that most of the new MBPs in stores and the first ones to be shipped will have been flashed with earlier versions of the software. Some of them may have been put in the warehouse as much as 1 month ago, so they'll need to be updated to the finalized version. You see this happening with OS X releases too, usually within 1-2 days.
