Apple's Q4 earnings call will take place Oct. 18

We'll all find out on October 18th, when Tim Cook, Steve Jobs, and a rogue's gallery of tech analysts bring us the 4th quarter earnings call for Apple Inc. As usual, TUAW will be providing a liveblog of the event, complete with commentary by our staff of bloggers. The event usually starts about 5 PM ET, and we'll be sure to give you a heads-up as the day approaches.

There are gadgets available in the market from reputed companies that are giving tough competition to Apple's products. While it seems that their notebook sales have gone over the roof but that is only first quarter. I recently read different views of people who used these products and it seems they were unsatisfied by the services.

FYI, Steve Jobs is *rarely* on these earnings calls and when he is, it's usually to deliver or soften bad news.
Be interesting to see how well the Apple TV did in its first month of "pre-order".
