Hong Kong Apple Store locations revealed

ifoAppleStore has discovered the locations of Apple's first and second Hong Kong stores. The first location is in the International Finance Centre on Hong Kong Island. The IFC comprises two towers that include office buildings, a mall and a cinema. The Apple Store will be located in Tower 2 and span 6,300 square feet. The IFC store will be open by year's end.

The second Apple Store to open in Hong Kong will also be on Hong Kong Island in the area known as Causeway Bay. The Apple Store will be located in Hysan Place, an environmentally friendly block-sized building. The Apple Store there will span 20,000 square feet. According to the developers, Hysan Place is expected to be finished in the second quarter of 2012, which is likely when the Apple Store will open.

All these posts are now ancient history - does anyone have an updated status on the Apple Store HK site development? And does anyone have a clue when the store will be opened - one or both or wherever it might be (assuming IFC)?

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!

On a side note, how can they open 2 apple store so closely located while there are many many many retailers (most of them are cr4p anyway but you got the local bestbuys aka Fortress or Broadway). Also what's the point if we (HK) are getting the new stuff later than everybody else? - ie. still no iPad2 and the iPhone4 just barely made it back online on the apple store.

I really hope on a commercial move to tackle grey imports as well, it's so stupid because they are made 30kms from here sent to USA then back here and sold at premium price.

These two are reasonable for Apple to start their retail business in Hong Kong. As before iPod become popular among Hong Konger, like in 2004, most Apple reseller are located in Central and Causeway Bay. Opening store there, make sure the sales of Mac and Mac related product besides iPhone, iPad and iPod (although they will have to compete with their reseller).

What I really want is Apple Music Store! It's ok if they only sell their content from US and Japan.
