Apple seeds third build of Lion Developer Preview 2

Apple has seeded a new build of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion to developers today. The build, labeled version number 11A444d, can be downloaded through Software Update for those of you running previous Lion builds. The update weighs in at 1.22 GB.

This is the third release of Lion Developer Preview 2, and as Apple doesn't list any details about the latest fixes and changes incorporated into it, it is likely that there are no major changes since the release of the second build of of Lion Developer Preview 2 two weeks ago. Let us know in the comments if you spot anything worth noting.

Does anyone have problems with launching launchpad? With me launchpad doesn't even launch anymore in this build. It only shows some screens flickering. Does someone have a solution for this problem?

Thanks

To stop the windows from reopening just uncheck the box in the shutdown/restart dialog.

Ugh, I've lost usability of several programs (Boinx TV, Steam) and I'm not so sure I like the reopen windows after restart thing, sometimes I'll close windows and after restart, say I open PowerPoint or Preview, like 5 or 10 old files open with it. My computer gets so bogged down. I've been a customer seeder for several years, but by far, this has been the worst experience. I know it's my choice, but I may go back to SL. I've also got this weird bug where the screen randomly splits like it is across 2 monitors, but it's actually one.

I am wondering if anyone knows if the speed has been improved since the last release? From what I heard, it was pretty much unusable and unstable to install it yet as your main OS.

I completely disagree with the speed. Certainly there have been bugs, but it's flying on my 11" Air - and has been since the very first release.

I used DP1 for a while and loved it. Rock solid and super fast, I was really impressed, the only thing stopping me from using it full time was the version of AFP on my Synology box is to old.

The "Are you sure you want to delete this app" popup in Launchpad now has an actual design.

Does that mean that Lion has its own iOS like uninstaller? or a built in one... The usual "drag it to the trash folder" doesn't always delete everything so I currently use CleanMyMac to uninstall applications so that no preference files or others things related to one application are left behind. I definitely think that an easier and complete uninstall option is a feature that has been missing from OSX.

It does have something like that. On Launchpad you can start "wiggle mode" like on iOS and click the X icon to delete an app, but all the settings files and stuff stay on the system.

Can someone tell me if it's still not working on Late 2006 iMacs?

Not sure I like that terminology; the only thing Mail.app can guarantee is that a message was sent - not that it was actually delivered.
