Declaring love with the Mac OS X Finder
Not only is this really cute, it made me think to myself, "Man, I wish I'd thought of that first." Sean Ohlenkamp put a folder on the desktop of his wife's Mac as the gateway to expressing his sentiments on their third wedding anniversary. The video above walks through a whimsical nest of folders in the Mac OS X Finder, occasionally taking non sequitur (and hilarious) side trips before winding up at an awww-inducing conclusion. There's no indication of how Sean's wife reacted to his message or the way he delivered it, but if she's a keeper, I'm sure she loved it.
You can watch the video after the break.

Love the Groundhog Day folder. Great touch.
Yes Edicius, you are correct. The photo of the asshole showed "mission accomplished" on the banner behind him. Far from the truth. As was the reason the asshole went into the war. Either way, nice video.
April 29 2011 at 11:52 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAnd here only 3 days after I left and insane trail of nested folders on a lab iMac at my school to bug a classmate. "FIND OUT HOW DEEP > THE RABBIT HOLE GOES > THIS IS A FOLDER > WITHIN A FOLDER > WITHIN A FOLDER > WITHIN A FOLDER > etc etc" :D
References to Xzibit and Inception were both included in the trail as well :D
why you no buy me gift?
April 29 2011 at 10:56 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyCute, but having more than 25 nested folders can cause issues with HFS+ in some applications. Just sayin...

April 29 2011 at 3:26 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyCorrection: It's 100 folders deep. I think it's not so much an issue with HFS+ or OS X, but rather developers not allocating enough memory in their applications for long file paths. This is one thing Apple's Disk Utility checks for when you run a repair on your disk. If you have more than 100 nested folders, it will spit out a warning that says:
"Warning: you have exceeded the limit of 100 nested folders"
Hmm not sure I get the war ended thing... and the asshole that was pictured doesn't really make sense.. The asshole that still in office has not ended the wars either.
Bush implied that the war was over, which it wasn't & still isn't. That makes him an asshole.
The "current asshole" never said that the war was over.
Now you can "get it" and stop defending the first asshole.
If you are successful in this, you may also not be considered an asshole by us other assholes who have been "getting it" for the past eight years.
My wife would've either got bored or messed something up before she got to the end. Never quite sure whether I'm glad she's so non-geeky or not...
