Apple TV has unveiled the first look at its upcoming Australian crime thriller Last Seen, a six-episode drama led by acclaimed actor Patrick Brammall. The series will make its global debut on September 9, 2026, marking another major addition to Apple TV’s growing lineup of suspense-driven originals.

Adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s award-winning novel The Dispatcher, the series was originally developed under the same title before being renamed Last Seen. The project combines a gripping mystery with an emotional family story, creating a thriller that aims to keep viewers engaged from start to finish.

A Father’s Search for Answers

The story follows Ian Ridley, a police detective whose life changed forever when his young daughter, Maggie, vanished without a trace 11 years earlier. Unable to accept her disappearance, Ridley now works as a police dispatcher while continuing to search for answers.

Everything changes when he receives a distress call from a teenage girl. Convinced the caller is his missing daughter, Ridley launches a relentless search that could finally uncover the truth. However, the investigation threatens to test his determination and reshape his family’s future.

Strong Creative Team Behind the Series

The drama was filmed in Victoria, Australia, and features an experienced creative team. Writer Kris Mrksa adapted the novel and serves as an executive producer. Emmy Award-nominated filmmaker Christian Schwochow directed the series and also joined the project as an executive producer.

Alongside Brammall, the cast includes Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall, Jessica Wren, Zahra Newman, and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes. Their combined experience adds depth to a story built around mystery, loss, and hope.

Expanding Apple TV’s Thriller Collection

Apple TV continues to invest heavily in crime dramas and suspense series. Recent successes such as Hijack, Slow Horses, and other acclaimed productions have strengthened the platform’s reputation for high-quality storytelling. Last Seen appears poised to continue that trend.

The series will premiere with two episodes on September 9, followed by weekly releases through October 7. As anticipation builds, Last Seen could become one of Apple TV’s most talked-about thriller releases of 2026.
