Fresh reports suggest Apple’s rumored iPhone 20 could feature a major glass-focused redesign when it launches in 2027. According to a Chinese industry source, a production facility has already been renovated to support manufacturing for the anniversary model. While Apple has not confirmed the claim, the reported preparations have added credibility to earlier redesign rumors.
The source also says suppliers may soon begin processing new components using updated production methods. However, it remains unclear which factory is involved or whether trial manufacturing has started.
Suppliers Point Toward Glass Components
The report names Biel Crystal as a leading supplier, with BYD and Lens Technology also expected to participate. These companies are well known for producing cover glass and enclosure components rather than display panels. Therefore, industry observers believe the redesign may focus on the phone’s exterior instead of its screen technology.
Interestingly, manufacturers could reportedly reuse equipment once designed for earlier glass-backed iPhone models. As a result, Apple may avoid installing completely new production machinery, reducing manufacturing costs and speeding up preparation.
A Fresh Look for Apple’s Anniversary iPhone
Previous reports have already suggested that Apple’s 2027 iPhone could receive its biggest redesign in years. Rumors describe a device with more glass surfaces, curved edges, and an almost bezel-free display. Some reports even mention a screen that curves across all four sides.
