WordPress: Most Mac-like Blogging Tool?
Well, there's no official claim like this coming from Infinite Loop, but it just so happens that Apple's student blog is not only run off of WordPress, which has been a known fact for a while, but Apple has now updated the site so that is proclaims "Powered by WordPress" in the sidebar. Of course, this isn't an endorsement, as you'll notice from the text immediately above the "Powered by WordPress" bit.I wonder if WordPress's support of podcasting had anything to do with the move...

Wow, that's really cool!! I'm glad to see WordPress is going places (BIG TIME!).
Matt's such a cool guy... if it weren't for him, Fed Challenge wouldn't really be going on at my school right now. (He did it in either 2002 or 2001...)
It's so cool to see an HSPVA alumni doing stuff like this!
He's awesome at sax, too... (see link)

wordpress is great my blog uses it.
It's quite fantastic. I absolutely love how customizable word press is. It's written in PHP+MySQL and has a very structured programming style. Probably as much effort has gone into making the code clean as has gone into features and functionality. This is not something that can be said of alot of programs. Many programmers are willing to have software that *works*. Not the wordpress team. They want a code base that will last for the next 100 years.

Apple's doing more stuff with WordPress, in the academic community. For instance, there's the ADCE weblogs including http://edcommunity.apple.com/adc/tools/
Ironically, I was posting to one of my project weblogs via TypePad yesterday, and it struck me that it felt so much like using Windows. User experience is OK, but not quite as polished as WordPress (which I also use for my own blog)

If you have WordPress, get The Mac like admin area : http://www.twistermc.com/blog/2005/06/15/mac-os-x-tiger-for-wordpress

The most Mac like blogging tool is Textpattern. Its not evolutionary but revolutionary. Plus its more than a blogging tool. Its easy to use and grows with the user.
That said, Wordpress is a nice tool and Matt deserves all the plaudits.

I agree with the Textpattern plug. But blogging tools have a long road to follow before they are Mac like in usability. Closest you can get is using a desktop application like MarsEdit or iBlog to update your blogs. However, customizing the look and feel of your blog is still way too complicated. And that's the area in which Textpattern is leading the pack.

Not only is WP Mac friendly, you can change the interface to resemble Tiger with this plugin. http://orderedlist.com/articles/wordpress-administration-design-tiger/ I like this much better than the default interface. Then again, there's not much "default" that I like.

I don't know about the "most-mac-like" blogging tool, but I know that WordPress is a great blogging tool. I use it myself via Blogsome. Keep up the good work.

The Tiger interface for wordpress listed above works only in Firefox!
I use spotpress for a similar purpose, though not exactly the same, it's good enough for me.

As a user of Wordpress and Textpattern, I try to love both equally.. though the former's large list of plugins and excellent documentation makes me think twice, I still have to say Textpattern is probably more mac-like. What's not mac-like about Textpattern, though, is in how you need to have some prior technical skill before being able to use it.

Just a tip: The Tiger admin UI for WordPress works just fine in Safari. I've been using it pre and post Tiger and before it turned plugin and after. All's well and it's a fantastic addition to WordPress, already a great product. This back end theme was the missing link to make it even better.
