Imagining a world without Microsoft

James R Stoup is writing a six part series for Apple Matters centered what would the computing landscape look like if Microsoft weren't founded lo those many years ago in the Microcomputer primordial ooze.

I'll be interested to see how Apple fares in his alternative history, but I hope he points out that if Microsoft didn't exist neither would Comic Sans, and that would be a very good thing indeed.
