More Apple 30th Anniversary Rumors

We're all aware that there have been fake Apple Special Event invites in the past. This image was posted on Flickr by a Swedish Technology blog. Why they would be invited and not other journalists is a mystery. So take it as you will--either this is a fake image, or they're just the first to post the invite. In any event, we'll know soon if other journalists start to announce the invite.

The image above is a resized version of the original. If you're inspecting it for photoshoppery, please inspect the original on the Flickr page.

Update: That didn't last very long. The image has been deleted on Flickr. I'm inclined to believe it's just another fake.
Update 2: Heh..."San Fransisco" is misspelled. Moscone Center is booked all week. Pretty clear--this is fake.

In other rumor news, a user claims to have snapped a screenshot on the Belgian Apple website for a listing of an iMac 30, whatever that might be.

Again, I've modified this image to highlight the interesting detail. Please inspect the original for photoshoppery.

Is there no Photoshopped invite you won't publish?

That second screenshot is probably also a fake. This screenshot took all of 10 minutes. http://www.flickr.com/photos/otsuki3c/123034026/

Who would have thought that Apple liked TUAW this much?

I love the fact that even though it was an obvious fake

The writer was still close to bitching about not being invited.

Apple ignored the Mac's 25th birthday, why wouldn't they ignore this as well? I suspect it's a Jobs thing.

there's no market for 30" imac. the imac is totally for consumers, and the 30" monitor is a sht load of money. they won't roll that out and have non-professional users buy that.

BLAH!

Also, realize it's very easy to edit the HTML code of the page on your own computer and then just view that in a browser. He could've done that, seeing as he doesn't show a URL bar or any other indication of where the page was located. (We don't even know what kind of browser he used!)

Well I see a few things possibly wrong with the screenie.

Curve setting used (PS): http://www.lsacc.net/users/vinitlee/Design/analysis.acv

When viewing in this curve setting, you only can see cyan/light neon blue fringe around the "0" in "iMac 30", unlike the other characters, which have pink and purple fringe as well.

See here: http://www.lsacc.net/users/vinitlee/Design/imac30.png

The characters are actually not all the same in the screenie shown. The characters differ when shown on high curves in Photoshop. This does not come out in the curve setting here, but I achieved it once then lost it.

These following are minor and may not actually hold anything, but they might as well.

2 Links are dark blue, not the default in Safari or Firefox. In these browsers the link color is #0048F5 and the color displayed in this screenshot is #0037D0. This could not be a visited link because the visited link color is purple in these browsers and also, there would be screenies of the following page if it was visited.

3. Wrapping of the words goes around with only one object on the wrapped portion (G3 CRT) this is not Apple-like.

Anyone, correct me if I am wrongly saying anything.

Hopefully, something nice will happen during april, and hopefully tuaw will stay clean and not whiny, I love the site for all the nice little news about apps and stuff, only thing i didnt like was when some writers was upset apple release ipod hifi. :p

Anyway, come on Apple, throw us a bone, I know the community scared you last time you tried, so you better make it damn good though ;) hehe No, i liked the last announcement and I don't mind if Apple come with something kinda small now too, just come with SOMETHING, I've been wiaitng for this anniversary. :)

Has anyone else noticed that the only people talking about Apple's 30th are people with tech websites? Apple has been strangely quiet about it. They didn't have to release anything new if they didn't have anything ready, but they could have at least mentioned it on their home page. Instead they're completely ignoring it, and we should all probably do the same.
