Apple promoting podcasting to businesses
ClickZ is reporting on an email that is making its way
around the business world. It's from Apple, and is promoting the benefits of podcasting. According to the article, the
email says:"Promoting your business just got easier. Create a podcast with GarageBand, post it to iTunes in minutes, and reach customers, clients, and partners in a whole new way. Chefs are sharing recipes. Maternity store owners are giving the lowdown on diaper bags. And other professionals are airing business discussions, marketing new products and services, and keeping people informed."
Call it a cash grab (buy iPods! Get your customers to buy them, too!), but I've seen it work. I know someone who was working for a dance company that was in dire straights financially. A podcast that preceded and outlined shows and museum exhibits did wonders.

Has anyone heard of SubscribeCast? Sopposedly they have a technology that allows podcast owners the ability to charge for their podcasts. I know that Rush Limbaugh and Air America have a way to do it to, but they don't have the same security features that SubscribeCast says they do. With all this talk about ads imbedded in Podcasts, maybe the next step is charging for podcasts without ads. You can check out SubscribeCast.com to see what you think. Any thoughts??

Portable devices are fast becoming the medium of news and entertainment. Sure, TV hasn't lived out its usefulness. But companies cannot afford to make the mistake of leaning heavily on the tube and on the broadsheets when everybody is spending more time on their portable gadgets. And with the the Apple iPod having cornered around 3/4 of the market in their product and service category, there's no better place or device where one could advertise.
