TUAW Video Podcast: Suburban Square Apple Store opening
I was lucky enough to be on the scene at the grand opening of the Apple Store in Suburban Square in Ardmore, PA (I had to go since it is so close to my house). I wouldn't be the amazing blogger that I am if I didn't bring along my camcorder and create a video podcast for all you guys and gals out there. You can download it directly here (34 megs) for your iPods, or get it via the enclosure in this post, or you can watch via YouTube (which is embedded in this post, though the downloadable version has better video quality).
I got to talk to lots of great folks, and I had a blast.

Where is Suburban Square? You may know where you live, but we don't. ;-)

Thanks for pointing that out, kg! I updated the post (though the store is in Ardmore, PA).

Did you intentionally write "genuis" instead of "genius," or is that just the definition of irony in action?
Great video aside from that gaffe.

Congrats to ya Scott (and your neighbors)!
I like your Apple store better than both of the Pittsburgh stores.
And how does that little girl know to stick those little itty bitty earplugs in her ears when bigger headphones are on the table? What else will she stick in her ear within the next 10 months?
We will all need to know American Sign Language soon, b/c we will all be deaf within the next two to three years.

Scott,
I was there several times before the 10:00 opening (had to be a school district seminar downtown by 9:00 AM and anyway, they didn't have a shirt big enough to fit me.) and can tell you that Suburban Square is going to need a multiple level parking facility just for the Apple store alone. The store was still jammed when I go there at 1:30 and people were even coming in during a thunderstorm.
Now when my wife goes shopping there, I can play in the adult toy store. BTW, 2 or my friends are working there and if they're an indication of the support level the store will have, Apple customers there will be in great hands. The store manager is also a very dedicated lady who went out of her way to be more than friendly at the opening.
Cayoux - The opening song is Pennsylvania 6-5000 by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra composed in 1940 by Glenn. Naturally, it's available from ITMS.
