Mad TV's take on the iPhone
I've never been a big fan of Mad TV (and I didn't really care for their iPad spoof - not because it was offensive, just because it wasn't funny), but a friend just sent me this clip from YouTube and I'll admit to being amused by it. The impression of Steve Jobs, as portrayed by Michael McDonald (not of Doobie Brothers fame), is not really very good, but I think the overall sentiment behind the skit is on the mark.
Is Steve Jobs an iWitch? You be the judge.
Thanks, DD!

If he weighs the same as an iDuck he's an iWitch.

Waste of time. Another reason not to watch MadTV anymore. Not nearly as funny as SNL's iPod send up.

I thought it was hilarious.
I was actually in the keynote, and about half-way through Jobs' demo we were all getting overwhelmed. He kept going and going and going. I made some comment to my friend about how Jobs had to sacrifice employees' children to the tech gods to produce it (hence the apologies and heart-felt "thank you"s at the end of the keynote ;)).

I don't know...it borders on blasphemy, (uhhh, um, yeah), but I'm still laughing. :-)
I thought it was a funny bit.
My computer room is a wall to wall shrine to Macs, Apple II, NeXT, with posters on every wall, but I thought it was funny.

I actually thought that was quite amusing. The reality-distortion field of His Steveness, first hand.

at first, i was thinking, "oh yeah, make fun of the hordes of apple geeks going into technology-fed spasms of joy...", but then it took the whole monty python turn and i found myself really enjoying it. don't anger steve, please! we don't need that kind of trouble!

That was awesome. MadTV is hilarious.
And yes, the iPad was a little much. But still... Ha!
Eternal life on the iPhone...
... Will it cost extra monthly?

1. A certain percentage of the iPhone's sales should be donated to the cast of MadTV so they can take acting/improv lessons
2. Fred Armisen owns whoever that is
3. Too soon since salem to be laughing...general rule of thumb you have to wait 400 years from the time of a atrocity for it to be funny

hehe Funny. And yes, halfway through the Keynote I was sold on the iPhone, and then th rest was just not interesting.. I was watching a MACworld keynote in hopes of some MAC-related news, and while I enjoyed the iPhone, that's not what Apple is to me..

This was way funnier and smarter then the crappy SNL parody! Not great. But at least it made me chuckle a couple of times.

My wife and I are huge fans of MadTV although it has dropped off a bit in recent years -- still way better than the tired SNL. I was in the audience at the keynote, and the beginning of the sketch was hilarious with the audience eating out of Steve's hand. Overall, the sketch was so-so. I just love the fact that the opening sketch of a major network show is a parody focusing on Apple and Steve Jobs. The attention is awesome!

Eh. SNL, MadTV, they're all unfunny municipal playhouse types whose overacting doesn't add to the [possible] humor. They're all Mike Myers/Will Ferrell clones, which is a pretty unfunny base to build from.
