Apple Store coming to Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree, CO

A little TUAW birdie tipped us off to an Apple Store on its way to the Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree, CO. This action shot was snapped in the mall, which is actually a bit surprising when considering Apple's typical M.O. about new store locations.
This will become Colorado's 5th Apple Store, following up the most recent opening of the
[Update: Woops, our bad. It was Boulder's Twenty Ninth Street store that was the latest to open, not Broomfield's. Thanks David!]

Actually 29th Street Mall in Boulder was the most recent opening.

Odd that this new sign uses the old Apple font (garamond) instead of using the new font... I would think that Apple has such control of its image that they wouldn't use a font from 4 years ago.

Actually, I do believe the sign was created by mall management; currently, Apple-supplied signs have just the logo. I do know that the store has been in the works for some time (Apple often contracts for "the perfect space" and it can be 2-3 years before something becomes available). I think that the original store opening date was April 27th but not sure if that's still the case with the "Summer 2007" marker.

Almost there guys, but the update should say Broomfield, not Brookfield. And the name of the Boulder location is 'Twenty Ninth Street', not the 29th Street Mall.

And it's Interstate 25, not Highway 25 ;-)

Nice to see that I'm not the only Front Range Apple fanatic around here. :D

Yes, there certainly are a number of us hiding out in the dark corners. I live in Castle Rock and this is welcome news for me. I had to head to the Aspen Grove store just this last week with two iMacs that had dead power supplies. I hope to make it to the opening with camera in hand.

wow it's weird reading about the city you live in with the mall that's literally 2 miles away in a website non-local website... really weird. now i don't have to go to the cherry creek one! hooray!

My sister lives about a mile from that mall, and it is located in Broomfield, not Brookfield, so:
s/Brookfield/Broomfield/
(That's a quick search and replace used in a lot of Unix text processing apps)

Sorry I was reading the article through my RSS reader, and the Update had Brookfield in it, but it looks like that has been corrected already.
Best Regards,
Bruce

The amazing thing is that this store is only about 9 miles from the Aspen Grove store and about the same distance from the Cherry Creek store. Considering how jammed the AG and CC stores usually are, this isn't surprising. It should be interesting to see if Apple makes CompUSA close the "Apple store" inside the Park Meadows CompUSA store.

i'm just excited to be a hop skip and jump away from the 29th street store...the one in broomfield is usually too packed to breathe.

Don't care... Tell me when they get one in Spokane, WA. Then I will care. The only Apple source here is CompUSA, which they are closing.

I'm still waiting for an Apple Store in Colorado Springs.

Jeremy: Actually, the Spokane CompUSA is the only CompUSA in Washington that they're keeping open.

What's really cool is that I snapped that from my new Blackberry Pearl and emailed him from the spot. I love technology.
