Apple preps England's 10th and 11th store
ifoAppleStore - watchdogs that they are - report today that Apple is preparing to open two more stores in England. Specifically, the Touchwood mall in Solihull south of Birmingham has been identified as a likely location as well as Churchill Square in Brighton. If any of our operatives on the other side of the pond spot any construction or other tell-tale signs, please let us know!

There's loads of stores down South but not a single one in the North East of England, why are they continuing to open more stores in an area of the country where they already have a presence?!

Steve, i know exactly why they are opening all the stores down south.... there is a higher population density, and therefore more customers. Plus, the stereotypical mac demographic is young designers... hence Brighton, big uni crowd, and it's 'London-on-Sea' nick!

Apple AND Land Rover? Solihull has it all now!
I still don't understand why they still haven't hit Reading. Its an official London overflow with links to the south coast AND the west (Bristol/Cardiff) Ideal location!

I go to Solihull sometimes, so I'll keep an eye open next time I'm there.

Fraser: and yet the man who designs all their best gear trained in Newcastle!
Come on Apple, give us a store at the Metro Centre!

Just wanted to say that you should say the UK or Britain and not England, the Scots wouldn't be happy to be lumped with us Englishmen.

Argh, how irritating, there are already 2 in London and one in Southampton - surely they don't need another in the South East just yet? Bristol/Cardiff could SO use an Apple store, and I'm with the people above, I'm 15 minutes away from Reading, that'd be marvellous. As it stands it's half an hour on the train to Southampton or 45 to London, hassle.

I've always found it baffling that there isn't one in Bristol. You;ve got two large uni's, colleges, a fairly big tech sector, trendy Bath nearby and a decent population (in Bristol, Bath and the surrounding area). The nearest store is Birmingham, which is a bit of a trek.

Steve I said the same thing today to a friend while walking around Newcastle while looking for an Apple TV to play on

I'm so glad that there are 2 stores in good ol' Manchester!

Cambridge needs one. 25% of all UK's venture capital comes here, and lets not forget the kind of companies it hosts.

There are 2 in Manchester, one in Sheffield but certainly non in the North East. Closest the Metro Centre has to an Apple Store is a few Macs in Toy R Us not exactly the same thing.

The informed wisdom is that Brighton has the highest density of Mac users in the country. The may be an urban myth, but it may also be what Apple is tapping in to. That said the fellow Mac users I know in Brighton avoid Churchill Square like the plague.

I said the North East, there most certainly is not one in the Metro Centre, I think I'd have noticed! Get your facts straight before you challenge mine.

Why haven't Apple come to Ireland yet? We need a store in Dublin badly, if only for the Genius Bar!
