Spyshot: Apple Store Baybrook Mall, Webster, TX
TUAW reader, and Texan, Jason sent us a few photos he took of what will soon be Texas' latest Apple Store. It's located in Webster's Baybrook Mall, between Coldwater Creek and a place called Bags N Baggage (We're guessing that they sell bags). A quick look at Apple's jobs postings site revealed that a few retail positions are still available for this location. We aren't aware of a time table for this store, but we'll keep our eyes peeled.
Thanks, Jason!

Yeah, I've been to Baybrook mall quite a bit. The Houston area is becoming a real hot spot for Apple stores, this one will be the fifth in our metropolitan area.

I was going to submit a picture I have, but it's too damn hard to find a way to submit stuff to this blog.
I applied for a job there, but I don't turn 18 until about 3 months after the store will open, so they won't hire me for this summer. I turn 18 in September - you guys can do the math for the expected opening.

What about one in the middle of nowhere?
I'm about to move from Seattle (2 Apple Stores and 2 Authorized dealers near me) to East Texas - 100 miles from the nearest Apple Store.
How am I going to survive?

I grew up in Clear Lake, or better known as, The CL, all my life. I now live in Austin but it is nice to see an apple store popping up there.

I have only one comment for the 3 dorks working at the Baybrook Mall Apple store - that is, screw you.
After choosing an accessory on my own for my ipod, I ventured over to pay for my selection. I was dismissively informed that anyone on the floor can help me. Odd because they did not seem to have a cash register and they were actively involved with playing with the hardware so as to impress prospective customers. I waited a good 10 minutes to get even some sort of acknowledgment that I wanted to pay for an item - alas all were too deeply engrossed in them selves to notice me.
I advised the geek who dismissed me earlier that he failed the first rule of retail - that is to take the money from customers.
I say just shut the damn place down - lower Apples carbon foot print because it isn't worth the electricity to open it up nor the gas to get there.
Hence forth I'll order it on line or pick up accessories at Walmart were I bought the same accessory for $16 verses $32 at a self scan/pay kiosk. I was not even pissed off when I left.
So, once again to the Baybrook Apple Store - screw you.
