Flickr Find: Preview in Leopard
TUAW reader Dave Lettice found this shot one in one of Apple's new Preview. He grabbed a screen and uploaded it to Flickr. To make sure we were actually looking at Preview, he checked the menu bar and the dock--as you can see with the Flickr notations he added.
In this shot, you can see a teeny tiny version of the new Preview tools which from left to right appear to be Previous and Next arrows, Zoom out and in buttons, a trio of button that I can't read but which seem to be labeled "M-something", "Text" and "Select", a colorful drop-down menu labeled with a word starting with A, a "Mark Up" menu, an Inspector, a Search field (good for those PDFs!) and a button to reveal/hide the sidebar. Feel free to Zapruder further for those items that I couldn't read or just got wrong.

The M-something label is probably the Move button, the hand icon for dragging documents around.

Is this honestly news!?! The buttons, left to right, are: Previous, Next, Zoom (+/-), Move, Text, Select, Annotate, Mark Up, Inspector, Search, and Sidebar. The only buttons that are even new are mark up and inspector, and both look like they came straight out of iWork.

Slighly off-topic, but while we are "Zapruder"-ing things...
Anybody notice that the tag on Mail.app is on the wrong side in the first image?

No conspiracies here, just found it wierd. As if the image was Photoshopped(tm) together for some reason.

I have to ask: where did the photoshop(tm) meme originate?

Also, does the inclusion of "bookmarks" to the menu bar mean system wide bookmarks for each app?
Big news if it does :)

@Jaime [#8]: Yeah, you make a good point. I'm pretty sure Sun have a patent on perspective.

Wow, what a worthless post. How does this even qualify as news?

No, it is I who have the patent on perspective! I also own the trademark so stop using the P word. ;)

#7, the "Bookmarks" menu is not new to Preview. Go ahead -- launch Preview, and take a look. :-)

The triangles have been replaced with little glowing bluish-whitish dots below each app, look closely, hopefully they will be easier to see in the real thing.

@ #6. You can actually see picture of this in one of the 'top 10 features' movies on apple.com. I forget which one, but it's there, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal with NDA.

i can't wait to have this new os x in action on my mac :)
..but i don't know if i'm the only one who thinks that: the standart grass background of 10.5..... isn't that a little ripoff from vista (i feel kinda bad accusing apple of this)? or is it meant to be? marketing? fun? what do you think?
