Glad to see TUAW cover *this* store opening. Hardly a word about the store that opened a few months ago in Orland Park, IL...it was ignored almost completely.

If Deer Park wasn't 1.5+ hours away, I'd be there...

add to this the possibility of three new stores opening in vegas. one is confirmed on las vegas blvd and i-215 - turnberry town sq. - to open in october (alongside a whole foods and a borders (or is it barnes and noble?))
the other two, not quite confirmed, are to be in summerlin and the other in caesars palace forum shops.
the town square store is supposed to of the large stand-alone variety (haven't quite figured where its going in the square, but there's a black storefront that looks like it'll be it - visible as you drive into the fry's parking lot)
the summerlin store looks like it'll be going into a shopping center with a pottery barn and a gap right across the road from a gordon biersch brewpub.

all this brings up the question: what will happen to the fashion show mall store?

Darn I'd go for my first store opening shirt if I wasn't having to be at Woodfield at 10am.

What's with the prevalence of only x-large t-shirts at the Apple Store openings? How many people is that really practical for? If you're not going to give us a choice, how about large? Or is America really that...large?

I remember back in the day when they had options at Apple store openings, and you could get there an hour early and still be in sight of the store.
