Roar! New York Public Library joins iTunes U

iTunes U, Apple's program to host multimedia files and podcasts for various institutes of learning in the iTunes Store, has a brand new member -- a big one. The New York Public Library has just launched its iTunes U page. Included are lots of audio programs broken up into several sections, as well as some archival material. The best part, of course, is that all of this content is free.

Thanks for this post.
Several iTunes U podcasts help me shorten my working day and there are definitely some gems among them!
I don't know if you have made other new participants in the program public via a specific article but I would strongly encourage you to do so since manually sorting to all available podcasts is a pain. Sure, there is the "new" button, but a notification by TUAW via RSS would be the way to go, at least for me :)

Slightly off topic....has anyone noticed that apple uses names of Mars' moons in their web page links to the iTunes store? Try it out: google phobos, or the one from this article deimos. Just an FYI, maybe I'm late to the party. thx

None of the digital content can be accesses by a Mac. Unless it is a PDF file or web content the Audio and Video require a third party application to be installed. This is only for PC. Once again Macs are left out of the user base.

This aspect of the iTMS is not publicised nearly enough.

Wish I could transfer it to my pick-screened device :)

But seriously that's exceptional! I hope we will see more free educational content on iTunes in the future.
