Has anyone had trouble with SIMBL plugins with 10.5.4? Since I installed the update, it's been no joy on SIMBL, despite deleting and reinstalling everything, trying PlugSuit instead, etc.

Not having Visor is killing me!

Anyone else have issues with external volumes not mounting? Lots of issues since the upgrade. System Profiler is showing the drives on the USB but they will not mount. Only way I've gotten them to mount has been to restart the system with them plugged in and they are recognized for a little while, but after several wakes from sleep I have the same issue. 2 month old MBP.

Has anyone else had trouble getting your Widgets to work after updating to 10.5.4? They worked fine yesterday, then after the update they don't seem to be able to connect, any insight? Thanks

Hey are there any developer/product management folk out there who would be willing to talk to me?

I installed the 10.5.4 update on my mac mini and macbook and thought that it broke my screen sharing somehow. I had a devil of a time getting the macbook to even see the mini on my local network and had to go in and reenter the ip address to mount it. I previously was able to automount each computer to the other when they connected to the network or restarted. After some research, I discovered that Screen Sharing is not supposed to work if Remote Management is enabled on both machines, which it had been since 10.5.2. with me as the only authorized user. I turned Remote Management off on both, enabled Screen Sharing on both and enabled all users and voila it worked as before. I use Screen Sharing and File Sharing many times each day as my Mac Mini is the download machine, file server and media station while I work from my Macbook in my downstairs office. It is my favorite Leopard feature.

Anyone else having iCal problems, namely that the Today button is grayed out and inaccessible? View > Go to Today also no longer works for me.

If you're already on today's date then it can't take you to where you already are. If you click on a different date then it will be available to go back to the current date.

Duly noted. I'm not on today. Per the Apple Discussion Board, it's a common problem.

Sheesh--I'm still trying to work out how to resurrect my MacBook's hd after installing the 10.5.3 update a few days ago. I never update unless I have a specific reason to do so. I wanted to run the Spore trial and voila--dead hd. I get the gray Apple and the sprocket and then after about 90 seconds (or so) the machine goes dead. All I had installed on it was Refit. What really pisses me off are two things: 1) I usually back up my system but have just moved from LA to NYC and hadn't unpacked my back up hard drive until a day before I did this (so all of my move photos and video hang in the balance) and 2) if I'd just waited a few days I could have installed 10.5.4 which (I assume) wouldn't have killed my hd.

Ah well, good luck all you daring people! I hope the update works for you all!!

There are two bugs under 10.5.3 and earlier that are really irritating me on my MBP (2.5GHz Penryn 15")..
-the "vertical striped screen" issue, where half the backlight appears not to switch on after a resume from sleep;
-the problem whereby Airport often won't automatically reconnect to 802.11B/G networks upon resuming from sleep. Toggling Airport on/off/on/off a few times normally solves it but is damned annoying.
Can anyone who's been foolish/brave enough to install 10.5.4 on a MBP comment? Thanks :)

I updated my system, and I could crash the entire OS X system using a user-mode app even after the 10.5.4 update. Can anyone reproduce it on their systems? Info about how to reproduce: http://mehrdadafshari.com/CS/blogs/m/archive/2008/06/30/make-mac-os-x-leopard-kernel-crash.aspx
