iTunes 9.0.1 now in Software Update

Fire up your Software Updates, gang: the new version of iTunes is here -- with bug fixes and tweaks to help those who were suffering from iTunes 9 issues. The update's fixes include:
  • Resolves issues browsing the iTunes Store.
  • Addresses a performance issue where iTunes may become unresponsive.
  • Fixes a problem where iTunes may unexpectedly quit.
  • Fixes a problem syncing Podcasts in playlists to iPod or iPhone.
  • Fixes a problem sorting albums with multiple discs.
  • Addresses an issue with the Zoom button not switching to Mini Player.
  • Improves application syncing for iPod touch and iPhone.
  • Genius is now automatically updated to show Genius Mixes.

The update is close to 90 MB, and like the previous iTunes 9 build it requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 and up, or Windows XP + newer. Note that the Mac version requires Safari 4 as well as QuickTime 7.6.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

It still doesn't work. Ever since itunes 9 updated on my mac, my pod won't sync. Itunes "quits unexpectedly." So now a new update and guess what, still sucks and still won't sync.

You mention that it requires QuickTime 7.6 on Mac OS X.

Anecdotal evidence: I have a fresh install of Snow Leopard (Wipe and Install) that does not have Quicktime, but only the included QuickTimeX, and it installed just fine, and so far has run just fine.

I STILL cannot access the iTunes store via iTunes 9.0.1 for Windows Vista 64-bit SP 2. However, strangely enough, I CAN access the iTunes store via iTunes 9.9 on my Windows XP mini-notebook!?? Is anyone else still having iTunes store access problems with Windows Vista 64-bit SP 2 and if so, have you found any resolutions...other than EVERYTHING that Apple recommends as a fix on their website-ALL of which I have tried to no avail?

But has Apple done anything about my iPhone crashing every time I go to Virginia?????

Why do I have to "reset network settings" every day??????

Does anyone know if this fixes the problem in iTunes 9, where videos (music videos, video podcasts) revert back to their original size even though i click stretch to fit / fit screen.

Will Apple understand how annoying is to launch iTunes every time we press the play button? This is the main fix I'm waiting for, don't care about the miniplayer and the rest.

Fix that please, and you guys at TUAW could talk about it. There's a big discussion and lots of people are really disappointed with that Snow Leopard feature.

Itunes 9.0.1 hangs for me on an XP SP3 netbook (after rebooting), it was fine before I updated. The applications tab makes it crash.

Oh joy, and as I just reformatted the iPhone I can't sync the apps.

Am I the only one?

In case anyone has the same problem, I fixed it by removing all the apps from the iTunes folder, then clicking the "sync" button in the tab, then adding the apps folder again.

I wish to thank Apple for keeping my imagination alive and well and half-forgotten swear words fresh in my mind.
