10.6.5 now available on Software Update

And just as foretold, here it is -- the 10.6.5 update to OS X is now available in a Software Update window near you. As you can see above, the new version provides a little more security, stability, and reliability in a few areas, helps out iPhoto and Aperture image processing, and should fix some outstanding issues with various apps and accessories.

And of course, like any other solid OS update, it requires a restart, so if you're in the middle of something, make sure you finish and save up before applying the update.

This worked for me for the WideMail plug-in as well:

Edit info.plist for the plugins you want to use and add these UUIDs for Mail 4.4 (under the SupportedPluginCompatibilityUUID key):

Update made my MacBook4,1 stop recognizing my SuperDrive. Have an appointment to get it looked at tonight... yay fun. Now my iLife '11 disc is stuck in and the eject button doesn't work. Reinstalling the 10.6.5 update didn't fix it. Resetting PRAM didn't fix it. It's not even recognized in the pre-startup hardware check. DANGIT.

I downloaded 10.6.5 via Software Update & installed it without problem. But About this Mac tells me I'm running 10.6.4. This on two systems, a Mid-2010 Mac Pro QUad and a 3-year-old Macbook Pro. I also downloaded the 10.6.5 Combo Update and installed that. Same result.

USB Speaker Audio still broken. Had to revert back to AppleUSBAudio.kext (version 2.6.8) to fix. Come on Apple, loads of users have reported this as broken as of 10.6.4

Ouch. iTunes and iPhone crash upon opening. That's no fun at all...

Anyone seeing any glitches with 10.6.5 yet? Just re-started with it and desktop background was lost so just wondering what other things may crop up.
