Apple is worth more than all of these things

With Apple (AAPL) having a market cap of roughly US$387 billion, it becomes the most valuable company in the US. Matter of fact, it currently has a $30 billion lead over the next most valuable company, Exxon Mobil (XOM). However, market caps are boring. What's fun is to look at how much Apple is worth compared to other things. Like drugs, the Star Wars franchise and Denmark.

That's exactly what the Things Apple is Worth More Than tumblr does. It turns out that at a market cap of $380 billion+, Apple is worth more than:

All the illegal drugs in the world ($321 billion)
The Star Wars, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Steven King, and Twilight franchises combined ($49 billion)
The GDP of Denmark ($337 billion)
and my personal favorite, the American obesity epidemic ($300 billion)

Apple needs to start spending their money into the economy. ... build a high speed iTrain. a new airline.
innovate somewhere else. come on apple, with great power (and money is power) comes great responsibility.

don't get me wrong, we are happy you are starting to get some money "out" of china by building all those apple stores and selling like eggs. Just saying!!!

Airlines bleed money. I would not suggest a foray into that industry.

Apple should also stick to innovating in industries connected t their expertise. That expertise is tactile human experience with devices.

I don't see high speed rail, or any passenger transit service (including airlines) in Apple's future. Just saying'.

For the Denmark comparison, its actually more in perspective to put it as: In one year Denmark produces the value of Apple, whereas it took Apple 12-20 years (depending on your perspective) to produce this same value.

Apple is a very broad term but let's this of these things on Apple they must have been stoned to even think of this stuff list.

Made a computer that looked like a Luxo Lamp
Invented multicolored computers
Stuffed a computer in s "stash" box... first the cube and later the mini
Took it further with Paisley and FlowerPowered computers
Steve Jobs famously dated Joan Baez and sold his house to Bono
iPod psychedelic ads with George Clinton, Cold Play and Eminem
Photobooth Effects... really who but a stoner needs that
Jumped into the mobile market when there was no way they could win
and Is the most paranoid company in the world

Yep apple is very much an organic smoker
