Apple TV has set a new world record with a massive drone display promoting “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters”. The aerial show recreated life-size versions of famous monsters from the series, including Godzilla, King Kong, and Titan X.

The event took place in Los Angeles on February 20. Apple partnered with drone specialists Heads in the Sky to bring the towering creatures to life in the night sky. As a result, the display matched the epic scale of the show itself.

3,000 Drones, 12 Minutes of Spectacle

The performance lasted 12 minutes and used 3,000 drones to form detailed, dot-based monster shapes. The drones filled an area roughly the size of three football fields over the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Some units climbed as high as 500 feet.

For comparison, Godzilla stands between 355 and 393 feet tall in Legendary’s Monsterverse. Therefore, the drone version closely mirrored the creature’s cinematic height.

The synchronized lights created moving outlines that appeared to stomp, roar, and dominate the skyline. Consequently, the show drew attention from fans and industry watchers alike.

A New World Record

The display secured the world record for the tallest aerial formation of a fictional character created by drones. Previously, Marvel held the title after forming a giant Wolverine at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024.

By surpassing that milestone, Apple TV raised the bar for entertainment marketing. Moreover, the record underscores the growing use of drone technology in large-scale promotions.

Season Two Approaches

The second season of “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” premieres on February 27. New episodes will stream weekly through May 1 on Apple TV.

With this record-breaking launch, Apple signals strong confidence in the series. Through innovation and spectacle, the company has turned the sky into its stage—and set a new standard for promotional events.
