Ejected Survivor contestant quotes Steve Jobs
While
watching Survivor tonight, I noticed something interesting at the very end. The contestant who was voted off (don't
worry, I won't spill the beans in case you haven't seen it yet) sort of quoted Steve Jobs during his/her exit
interview. During his commencement address at Stanford
University last year, Steve urged the graduates to "Stay hungry, stay foolish," and tonight's unfortunate
survivor urged young people trying to make their way in the world to "be hungry, be foolish." I thought it was
kind of cool.Yes, I realize that this particular quote didn't originate from Steve, but I believe it's safe to say that most geeks today associate it with him.

Yay, a reason for me to get off the computer and turn on the TV! (I wish I had a MacBook Pro to sit on the couch with :) )

Yeah, it was dumb. I watched the show just for a 5 second clip of audio at the end :)

Actually, I thought this post was very helpful. When I saw the end of Survivor last night I said, "What a tool! This guy totally prepped a cheesy speech so he'd be ready when he got the boot!" This post confirmed it and gave me a little insight into where the guy came up with the cheddar.

It should be noted that these words are not original to Steve Jobs ....
My recollection is that Stewart Brand and the people at the Whole Earth Catalog coined them, or that's where I first heard them ...
I guess Steve read that and liked it.

Hey, as a college student myself I actually like the quote.
You can beat on Survivor all you want, but leave Steve and his quote alone. Haha.
