Live "It's Showtime" coverage

You're doing it in reverse chronological order. That should be nice.

CoverFlow? Please tell me they bought the rights to this and didn't rip this (http://www.steelskies.com/coverflow/) poor guy off. It's one of the sickest iTunes minded apps I've ever seen. I hope Apple hasn't created another widget fiasco and they either bought this or at least payed the guy for his intillectual property.
(his site is down right now, Apple legal is probably telling him he should have got a trademark)

@7...I second that, but seeing as they have called it coverflow I guess they've paid him a tidy sum. I hope so. It's a great app.

Sigh...Underwhelming again.
I'm sick of this incremental crawl to perfect things already created. Where is my iPhone? Where is my full-screen iPod?
I hate to say this, but judging by the last 18 months, Apple has become complacent and risk-averse. They still make the best stuff, obviously, but processor upgrades, PhotoBooth, movie downloads, new games, album view in iTunes...these things are weak.

So it sounds like that's it. I'm in the uk, but man I don't care about the movies, the itunes update sounds great to me. Free artwork, album view, coverflow view (looks fantastic, you can see it over at engadget), easier searching and gapless playback. Sounds cool, very cool.

Certainly appears to be the same Coverflow as the Steelskies one as seen in the Engadget photo below:

@ 11: Underwhelming, cause we all dream about telepathic iPods, the Apple ICar that can speed without getting you a ticket, and all the other rumors. Of course reality doesn't quite catch up.
I, for one, I am so disappointed that they didn't release something with the gloriously brilliant name of "TubePort". Depressed, will still have to use Tube socks for pleasuring meself...

No, don't call it iTV. We have a station in the uk called ITV. How about iView, or iWatch, or iCandy, or iSee. These are obviously copyrighted to me by the way :-)

what is it with everyone and iphones? I want my phone to just be a working bloody phone! They can't even make one of those right. So these updates to the ipod seem pretty cool to me. Just keep doing what you do best Apple :)

yeah, i'm happy with the iTunes update too. i'm not a sucker, i won't be touching 640 x 480 video. i remember cover flow too, loved it - e-mailed the author... had various demo versions. one day it dissapeared for me. i guess Apple hired the guy. as you said Chris his site is down today.
iTV is promising too -i have a pretty cool Video Out cable for my iBook that does the same job :P - if its around £50, i'd take one... it'd have to have some swanky extras tho.
what about the iPod upgrades- i always wanted search. now we have it. still - no keyboard / hand / writing input. but it'll come.
apple didn't hype this - you did. suckkas.

No movie rentals? = lame
One major studio only? = ah well. They'll get on board when they smell the money rolling in, filthy vultures.
No iPhone or video iPod? = hey, what can you do, they're not ready yet
TV shows in DVD quality = great news. I refused to buy at 320x240, but I'll go for 640x480
iTV? = this is what I've been waiting for! Too bad I'll be waiting another 6 months... :(
And the 80G iPod for $349 will seriously rain on the Zune's coming out party.

Sweet, now I can spend $299 to watch 640x480 movies on the 1080p TV I've been feeding FREE HD content to with my FREE DVI cable. I can't wait to buy lower-than-DVD quality movies from iTunes store to send to my magic $299 iTV box!
