TUAW Tip: How to submit a bug to Apple
Find something wrong with an Apple app? Know about a problem with the operating system? Want to know what to do about it? Consider submitting a bug report at Apple's bug reporter website. It's the best way to get Apple's attention and generate a trouble ticket for the problem you've discovered. The site is open to any registered Apple developer and it's free to become a registered Apple developer--you don't actually have to be, you know, a real actual coding or programming developer. Just sign up for an account here.
Apple has a handy best practices page to help you submit the best bug report possible. (Hat tip to our own Laurie for this great link!)

Ok, the numbers aren't that hard to find, but the Triple Zero option? WOW! I've never heard of that one, but it's a great tip, thanks!

From what I understand, you can file a bug for anything. Just tag it as a feature request or enhancement, and you can make suggestions about new UI idea or new format you want a program to read, or anything. Its the preferred way to tell Apple this information. I think even songs you can't find in the iTMS should be reported here. (but, somebody correct me if I'm wrong)

The worst part about submitting bugs is that they usually just get marked as duplicates. Because you don't have "real" access to the bug tracking system, this is a dead-end. You can't track the status of the other one so you don't know whether it's WONTFIX or waht.

Jon, the basic developer membership is free. You're confusing developer.apple.com, I think, with ADC the paid Apple Developer Connection ($500/year).

They get marked as duplicates when they ARE duplicates. Remember, there are people within Apple also doing testing and also other users with access to this site. If anyone has run across the same thing (chances are good) then what you've entered IS a duplicate.
If you really have found something unique, the ticket will be updated letting you know they need further information like an example file for instance. If you supply the information, then the ticket could sit at "Open" for a loooong time afterwards.
Just remember, to find something that's not a duplicate (either found by Apple or reported by another user) is going to be difficult by definition.
