iOS 4.3 is now available

Apple has released iOS 4.3 just a day after BGR's rumored release schedule, but right on the nose for Jim Dalrymple's prediction. This is a big update for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Changes include improve AirPlay support, the Nitro JavaScript engine for faster web browsing, personal hot spot and iTunes Home Sharing, which lets users stream iTunes media to their devices. We can't wait to play with that! You'll find the details on iOS 4.3 here.

To get the update, connect your device to iTunes and click Check for Update. We'll have more coverage on the new features throughout the week. Go get it and have fun!

Update: Direct links to the update downloads are listed below (thanks to MacStories)

After updating, a new icon appeared at the top of the screen: a closed lock with a circular arrow around it. How do I unlock what appears to be the accelerometer on my Touch (third gen)?

Is it just me, or have those obnoxious new text alert sounds been shortened?

I have an app that will not load on 4.3, even after restarting, resyncing and reinstalling the app. WordReference.com. It is one I use all the time.

Yep, which is working very well so far, I'm pleased.

All people need to know about Personal Hotspot is that it's exactly the same as tethering before, but now WiFi tethering is a new option. I don't use it because of cost, and still the update is welcome!

Does anyone know why there is no 'Personal Hotspot' option on the 3G iPad…?! If I can use it on the iPhone why not on the iPad as well…?!

Is that a restriction by Apple or carrier-related…?

Because the update isn't for the CMDA iPhone.

Downloaded and installed 4.3 on the iPad - first thing after it came back up - went into Settings and changed the hardware switch away from mute and back to lock rotation.

Lean back... job done.
