Second Glendale, California Apple Store to open Saturday

The second Apple store in Glendale, California will open at 10AM this Saturday -- and it's only 600 feet away from the entrance of the first Glendale store. That makes the two Glendale store the closes Apple stores in the chain, according to ifoAppleStore. Apple's first Glendale store was the second Apple retail store to open and visitors say that it's so packed it's hard to get shopping done, which is probably the reason Apple opened another store so close.

ifoAppleStore also offers some other location trivia about Apple stores. After the Glendale stores, the next two closest Apple stores are the Palo Alto and Stanford stores. They're just 3,738 feet apart. New York City, Las Vegas, and Honolulu are the "most packed" cities with Apple stores. All three cities have three stores within a 4.1 mile radius. The state with the most Apple stores is California, with a whopping 19 stores.

I think you meant to say "The state with the most Apple stores is California, with a whopping 50 stores". There's 21 Apple stores in the greater LA basin alone. See http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/ for a complete list.

Apple store trivia: Glendale was the second apple store opened (due to it's time zone), but it's was the first store planned, so it does hold the honor of being store #1 in apple internal numbering system.

this is awesome, i go to the galleria store and its all right but i hate going to the galleria since its old and too outdated compared to the americana, the americana is newer and better just like the grove. i plan on attending on saturday though since the americana is a open, outdoor place i dont know how big the line will be or how many people will be there, i plan on going there tomorrow since i will have dinner and i will take a pic and upload it to twitter regarding the preparations of the opening just to give a heads up

One day when I can dedicate a day to go to Glendale, I might check them out. Traffic on state route 14 and interstate 5 are killer though.

If you draw a line between the two stores in Google Earth, they're under 350 feet apart. As the line flies.

The strange thing is that one of them is a Chinese knock-off.

Yet on the beaches of Northwest Florida, the closet Apple store is three hours away.

And the closest grocery store is one hour away. What's your point again?

I live near the first Glendale store, and when the americana opened, it took the fashionable Glendale Galleria mall and made it look like K-Mart. Now the Americana is filled with upscale over priced stores, so the Apple store should fit in well... except that it's products are worth purchasing. This seems more of a ideal location for the store, but it's my bet that Apple doesn't want to close the galleria store because of the history of that location, OR they will close it a few months down the line when the new location is permanently accepted. There is also a sony store in the americana.
