iOS 5 Beta 7 now available

The iOS 5 beta 7 SDK is now available for download by paid devs at the iOS developer site. As with previous betas, you'll also find all the other items that continue to be synchronously updated to support the beta. Sign in with your developer credentials to gain access to the updated SDK.

Because it cannot be said too often, make sure you read any release notes on-site. For everyone intoxicated by new technologies that might allow you to update using other means, I cannot strongly encourage you enough to go to the site and read the release notes. This hint goes out especially to those of you who are not primarily developers but how have purchased dev accounts to stay current on the technology.

Installation alerts usually appear in a big yellow box on the main iOS dev page. Important update notices also appear on the developer forums. If you run into troubles installing updates, please check the dev site and forums first.

Seriously.

If you don't have access to the dev site and forums, please don't e-mail us for technical support about the iOS 5 beta. You do so at your own risk; we have been known to point and laugh.

As a final note, don't forget to register your device at the developer portal and prepare it for development before installing the new beta onto pre-beta equipment.

The beta is, as always, released under the terms of Apple's NDA. For that reason, enhancements, APIs and features are not listed within this post.

Can someone help me with defining custom APN or MMS Settings with IOS 5 beta 7? There is no Cellular Data option in Setting->General->Network as it used to there earlier !!!

I installed it it OTA yesterday, and the iPod app started behaving weirdly, it would not play two songs in a row, it skips some and then shuts...

I am having the same issue. While my music is fine on my MacBook, it won't play ANYTHING on either my iPhone 4 or my iPad 2.

Beta 6 killed VoiceOver which I used constantly. Beta 7 fixed it and seems to be running better than ever. Except... Youtube is not working for some reason :(

So I had a Developer's Account up until a couple of days ago (my license expired and I haven't renewed it). I just got the notification about beta 7 being available. Any idea if my iPad or iPod touch can legitimately download and install the update?

DFU does work, timing is a bit tricky though as it might take a few tries to get the fixed black screen with iTunes detecting a phone in restore mode

OTA update went perfectly for me (iPhone 4). This is really going to make things so much easier. No more 60 minute downloads. Mine downloaded in under 6 minutes, and was installed after another 5-10 minutes.

PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING BETA 7

I installed Beta 7 OTA, and it kicked my phone to DFU mode. Following the instructions at the link I will provide below, I was able to kick my phone out of DFU, and the restore completed as expected.

Your link is from last year. Is it sill valid?
I attached the iPhone and got into DFU but Terminal say "No iPhone/iPod"
