EasyCloud for OS X, their Utility app that allows Mac users to simply drag and drop data files into the EasyCloud Drop Window to have those files immediately available on all their Macs and iDevices. The app's two functions, Drop and Mac to Mac, support the following file types via iCloud: .pages (iWork), .numbers (iWork), .keynote (iWork), .doc (Microsoft Word), .excel (Microsoft Excel), .ppt (Microsoft Power Point), .txt (TextEdit Application), etc. The Drop function sends files directly to all the user's iDevices containing the matching app and via a common iCloud account. The Mac to Mac function enables both syncing and file sharing between Macs sharing the same iCloud account. A browser window displays all files available for sharing between Macs, files can be opened or deleted, and the list refreshed. EasyCloud support GoodReader.

"Download documents to a Mac or PC at icloud.com/iwork as Pages '09, PowerPoint, or PDF files."

Should "PowerPoint" be replaced with "Word"? Looks that way.

Well.. dragging iWork documents to the iCloud web page in Safari works pretty well, though I can't say it's the ideal scenario. There should be options within the iWork apps themselves to do this, though maybe the browser window was used as a sort of nod to the file system metaphor. In any case I think the field is open for developers to come up with apps to do this in various ways.

I think this is just the mobile versions, as my Pages and Numbers from the Mac App Store are saying they are up to date.

From the descriptions above I'd say that it is supposed to be an update for the desktop versions -- otherwise statements such as this wouldn't make any sense…!?

"Drag and drop Pages '09 or plain text documents to icloud.com from your Mac or PC to have them automatically appear on iOS devices."

I read that as

Take any pages document (or plain text) stored anywhere on your Mac or PC and drop them on iCloud for them to appear on your iOS device.

I've just logged into my iCloud, and it doesn't mention the non-mobile version of Pages. I can't seem to drag and drop any of my files though as I get "there was a problem uploading a document".

My Pages is definitely 09, from the App Store - maybe there's a delay for me 'cos I live in the UK?

I guess that seems to be the case -- I've just read an article on Macworld that clears things up a bit and it says that there is no update for the desktop version but the drag-and-drop part means that you actually have to drag it from your Mac to the browser window into the iCloud.com/iwork area and it then syncs it over to your iOS device…!

That really isn't the most elegant solution and I was really hoping they would include that kind of functionality directly into the iWork apps for the Mac…! Let's hope this is just a temporary workaround…

I don't even see them in the Mac App Store. Do you have to upgrade to the new version of Lion to see them in MAS? I am downloading it but it's taking forever

Is it about the iWork suite for Mac OS X or is it about the iOS iWork suite?

Are these updates only for the App Store versions?

I'm wondering this as well. Software Update isn't reporting an update for the versions installed on my 2011 MBP.

Same here, I've purchased my iWork suite before the Mac App Store was around an updates have always shown up through Software Update -- now I don't see anything in there and the MAS doesn't recognize them as purchased apps either…!? The latter kind of makes sense, I guess, but then the updates should at least show up the "old way", right…?!
