Businessweek profiles Scott Forstall
Apple's iPhone 4S press event showcased the talents and personalities of Apple's executive leadership including CEO Tim Cook and Phil Schiller. One standout was vice-president Scott Forstall who, in the absence of Steve Jobs, is expected to take a bigger role at Apple. In a lengthy article, Business Week takes a closer look at this up and coming executive.
Forstall's in charge of Apple's mobile software division and oversees the development of iOS. At the tender age of 42, he is Apple's youngest senior executive. He's also the most like Steve Jobs and the executive most likely to preserve Jobs's vision.
If you want to learn more about Forstall and his role at Apple, then you should take some time to read Business Week's six page profile.

I honestly dont care for Scott. I believe his presentation skills are very forced and he usually messes up about 3 to 4 times per keynote. He just doesn't seem comfortable and seems to be a Steve Jobs copy cat. Knowing many of the situations at Apple; he fell into the job of leading iOS and it proved to be a success (not his doing).
The only person who can fill Jobs shoes is Jonathan Ive! He has the vision and the future! He must take over the keynotes from now on in my humble opinion. Just a thought...
I remember people wishing Scott would become CEO of Apple when Jobs resigned instead of Cook, as though charisma (which Scott definitely has) was the only prerequisite. Obviously he has a lot of managerial experience running the iOS team, but I think he's far more valuable where he is for Apple than if he were responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company.
Scott is responsible for the single most important asset Apple has right now - without iOS, the iPhone is just a shiny piece of glass. Steve shared his vision for what the iPhone needs to be for most people, not in terms of features and specs, but by the principles of "it just works." He trusted Scott to stay true to that vision and let him guide iOS to where it is today. Though Steve signed off on it, I have a hunch that Scott's own creativity is what's responsible for polishing iOS in its current state.
I'm honestly more confident about Apple's future knowing a guy like Scott Forstall is there. He's exactly what Apple needs - strong character, laser focused on what features make sense for iOS and what doesn't, and creative enough to implement new features in a what that makes sense with the rest of the company's initiatives.
Hope to hear more good things about him and his team in the future.
