Steve Jobs: Engadget reader?

Steve JobsJason Calacanis, our fearless leader, is attending the D Conference this week and he had a chance to speak with his Steveness (and some Gates fellow). Turns out Steve reads Engadget every day.

Let me repeat that for those of you keeping score: Steve Freakin' Jobs reads Engadget every day.

Now, I have nothing but respect for our dear colleagues at Engadget. They hustle day and night to cover all gadgety stuff and all their hard work shows. However, you might think that Steve, given the fact that he is CEO of Apple, might want to read a blog that covers his company's products obsessively. If only the WINS stable included such a blog...

Hey, wait a second!

So, Steve, are you solely an Engadget fan? Or are you a closet TUAWer? You can tell us, we're all friends here.

Update: Jason informs us, via his comments that, 'Jobs didn't know about TUAW, but his people did... he is gonna check it out.' Perhaps you're reading this now, Steve. If you are.. umm... hi?

If only I was The Real Uncle Steve, I'm somewhat of a bad carbon copy: I have the jeans, I have the polo/turtle necks (only two!), I have the Macs (Powerbook G4, Mac Plus, SE and SE30) I just dont everything else....bit of a shame, really!! mooooooooo! It's raining in my hear....blah blah blah!

haha! I love the charming photo, trying to coax Steve into the crazy commenting wilderness. I'd like to see an authentic post from a company CEO... I wonder if he mouths off at people through some mad commenting alter-ego. Well, if you are out there Steve Jobs... please - find my e-mail about .Mac, I'm sure I make some valid points and I won't be renewing until you respond! Has TUAW had a go at .Mac yet? Let's try that search box...

I would like to think that Uncle Steve sneaks a look at TUAW every now and then! Although I wonder what he makes of being called Uncle Steve.....it seems everyone has copied me! :-) If only Uncle Steve was Uncle Steve - he'd be the coolest uncle... I mean how cool would it be to say....my uncle....is Steve Jobs! uhm.....yeah! I went nowhere with this, didnt I! Okay, I admit it....I'm on the whole first comment thing! Sorry! sorry Uncle Steve!
