Texas, Rhode Island Apple Stores on the way

According to Apple Retail watchdog site ifoAppleStore, Houston, Texas and Providence, Rhode Island may have brand new Apple Stores in their respective futures. First, they suggest that Houston's second Apple Store will appear at the Memorial City Mall, bringing Texas' tally of Apple Stores to seven.

In Rhode Island, it looks like Apple has finalized plans for a location in the Providence Mall. Good luck to locals of both locations. We hope these plans come to fruition. For those of you in southern New England, don't pass up Ye Olde English Fish and Chips in Woonsocket, RI while on your way to the Providence Mall. That place is fantastic.

its about time we got a real apple store around here. And yeah hasn't it been like two or three years since apple began to try and get into here. but wooot now i can actually get some of the accessories i have been meaning to get the next time i was in an apple store. All i can say is the sooner they open and the store becomes accessable the better.

The Apple Store in the Houston Galleria is good but if you just want to pick up an iPod case or something, going through the mall traffic and parking is a nightmare.

An Apple store at Providence Place sounds amazing. They'll get a lot of sales from RISD kids.

I was very excited to see Ye Olde English get the nod. As a Woonsocket native I generally try to forget my hometown, but Ye Olde is the one great thing we have to offer.

Hah. Rock on with the six color Apple Logo. Ironically reminds me of the time I lived in Massachusetts (Computer Town had huge foil Apple logos in the window).

It's a shame that by 1996 people started confusing it on cars with the gay flag.

About friggin time! How long ago was the Providence Place Mall announced as a location? I hate going to that mall (or any mall, really), but having an Apple store there will make it more tolerable when my wife wants to hit Williams-Sonoma or Crate & Barrel. And not having to go to CompUSA to see a Mac hands-on - that's worth any sort of mall hassle I can think of... and then some.

@ Michael

Woodlands doesn't count for Houston! Way too far away.

Oh, God Bless America. With only one store in Houston, one on the Northwest side of the city would be the greatest thing on Earth.
