Flickr Finds: sampling Jobs' stool

Here at TUAW we have unusual hobbies. Some of us like walking and biking. Others of us like spotting Steve Jobs' special three-legged stool. Chacun à son goût and all that. In honor of our very own Dan Lurie, loyal TUAW reader Judson has spotted The Stool™ on the recent Jobs/Nightline interview and sent us a Flickr link to said sighting. If stool hunting pales for you in the greater scheme of things, consider Wozhunting instead. Twitch. Twitch.

No, but in all the Engadget keynote coverage photos, his black shirt actually looked brown.

Which I thought was ironic... The so called gadget experts either (a) can't afford a camera that has decent color balance, or (b) have no clue how to use their devices.

Since Engadget has a distinct tendency to badmouth the iPod any chance they get, I don't mind thinking they're just plain incompetent!

While it may be true that Steve has a favorite stool, there's a discrepancy, here: The stool in the article photo does *not* have 3 legs; it has 5 (like the one linked to in comment #3). However, the Pixar stools (comment #5) *do* have 3 legs.

So I wonder if the rumor about Steve insisting upon having "his 3-legged stool" is exaggerated. Perhaps it's simply the molded seat he loves, while in fact he doesn't care so much about the number of legs (although the 3-legged version is clearly a simpler, more attractive design, which would lead one to conclude he might prefer it). But if Steve truly insists upon having the 3-legged version to the extent that has been reported, I doubt his team would have been so careless as to fail to have one at the Keynote Address.

When I saw the headline I thought it had something to do with Steve's health issues.

That is the same stool they used to have at the counter in American Eagle stores.

Hate to be a naysayer - but there's 2 stools in this photo - looks to me that they were provided by the interviewer at ABC (or whereever this interview was done?) - this isn't the steve stool IMHO

Those same stools can be found at another Steve Jobs company, Pixar. They are in the atrium with tables. You can see them in the middle background here: http://www.aintitcool.com/images/pixar/pixar8_large.jpg
