¡Hola Mexico! New Apple Online Store

Finally! After years of waiting, Mexico has its own online Apple Store. The new online store promises a better values for Mexican shoppers, who no longer have to shop at the US store. And, as part of the grand opening, you can win a MacBook each day and an iPod nano each hour--assuming that I, a non-Spanish speaker, have interpreted this page correctly.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

Yes, they will give away a total of 5 MacBooks and 120 Nanos. Finally an affordable option for Mac users in Mexico. You wouldn't believe how much they charge for a Mac there.

It is great. Now we keep waiting for the iTunes MS to work in Mexico and the iPhone... without AnySIM.

I think this prepares the road for the iTunes store... and the iPhone. Holiday shopping is around the corner so; what better time?
BTW, Apple is aggressively pricing its products. The new 8GB iPod touch sells for $5,099 in Office Max, while Apple it's selling it for $4,099 (mexican pesos). And the 16 GB is $5,699 vs $5,499.
Not bad! And finally we can buy customized macs and (PRODUCT) red iPods.
Congrats Apple. Too bad for competition... where have I heard it before?

This movement only reinforces the rumor that Apple will open an Apple Retail Store in Mexico City, like reported some Mexican´s newspapers.

It was about time!!!! Hopefully we will have an iTunes music store as well; and a real MacStore, not just a virtual one, nevertheless this is a big step forward. There are a lot of Apple and Mac fans in Mexico... any one cares for a Tequila shot to celebrate?
Gracias Apple!!!!

I find it quite funny that in American Spanish, computers are feminine while in Spain it's a masculine word (la computadora vs. el ordenador).
Things like "una Macbook" (a Macbook) sound strange for us (we say "un Macbook, un iMac..).
Congrats on the online store..

About F*in' time!
Now let's see if they dare to open new stores in other countries, like Greece or the rest of Latin America.
@9:
And that also depends of the country. In Chile, we use "computador", yes, the anglicism in masculine.

The prices are actually almost the same as in the U.S.
For example, the lower end MacBook is $1099 USD.
In the Apple Store Online Mexico it goes for $13999 Pesos.
At today's rate that's $1278.58 USD. But in Mexico, prices include a 15% IVA (tax).
So pre-tax, the computer is $1086.80 USD.
Not bad at all.

Congratulations on getting a real Apple Store, amigos!
Here's to Apple opening up and noticing that we Puerto Ricans buy Apple products just as much as they do! We want a store here, Modérnica just ain't cutting it! It sucks, too overpriced!

I'm glad Apple has finally released the Online Apple Store for Mexico, but speaking of the iTunes Store, I hope it doesn't take much longer, yet I'm afraid it maybe, since as far as I can tell, we have no DRM laws in our country.

Prices are actually good, particularly when compared with Windows machines, which typically sell for twice the price in the US. Yes, Macs are PCs, get over it.
Unfortunately the site was blatantly done by spaniards, so we need to read everything with a lisp, zpilling zaliva allz overz thez keyboardz...

Very good news for Mexico. Here in Brazil we have the most costly iPod ( http://www.news.com/iPods-Cheap-in-Canada,-costly-in-Brazil/2100-1041_3-6151110.html?tag=nefd.top ). Any rumors about a brazilian store?
