¡Hola Mexico! New Apple Online Store

Finally! After years of waiting, Mexico has its own online Apple Store. The new online store promises a better values for Mexican shoppers, who no longer have to shop at the US store. And, as part of the grand opening, you can win a MacBook each day and an iPod nano each hour--assuming that I, a non-Spanish speaker, have interpreted this page correctly.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

I'm sorry to say... the Mexico store is a flop. I was very excited about the opening of the online store in Mexico. I bought half the store the day it opened. So far I have received only one product. The rest are waiting stuck in customs with a lovely UPS descriptions that it is replicated every day stating "SE REQUIERE INFORMACIÓN O DOCUMENTACIÓN ADICIONAL DE ADUANAS PARA LA LIBERACIÓN".

There are hundreds of spelling errors on the Apple Mexico side, but for the grammar conscious crowd, I have one great one to share. On every email at the head of the mail confirming my order you will find: "Tu orden hacido enviado!" HACIDO wtf? How about "ha sido"

So far, so bad.

And after reading the posts from other people in Mexico begging for the iTunes store. All I have to say is: please get a life. Have you bothered to see the other iTune store in other countries outside the US? They're lackluster, hardly the same content. Check the one in Canada just for a laugh and compare. There's not even the TV Shows option. So if an iTunes front is open in Mexico, expect the worse - it shall not even compare to the "Latino" U.S. front. Besides, everyone who want's access to iTunes store in the U.S. can - be prepared to prepay while in the U.S.

My last words: thank you Apple for offering the option for the Mexican market, but.... you're definitely not ready. I have been an Apple product buyer since the early 80's (starting with an apple IIe), and I'm sorry to say that with your on line store in Mexico you've ruined over 20 years of good experiences.

Be careful. Prices are going up with no apparent reason in the mexican store. I stated in a past post, how the 8 GB iPod touch was $4,099. Today it's $4,499. I noticed with the new wireless keyboard. At first I thought it was my mistake... but no no. The keyboard was $789 and the next day it's $989.

Just a heads up...

for brazilian citizens... the fact is not that apple doesnt care about brazil.

The problem is tha brazil is very closed-mind and they prohibit (with high taxes) to import foreign products (in this case Macs).

So.. the date depends on brazil government not on apple.

It is the same as all the other american company sites in spanish. It is terribly written. The language is all wrong. Bienvenidos al Apple Online Store Oficial! What the f**k is that?

"Recibe 300 y más innovaciones y nuevas características. Ya hacemos envíos."

Have they heard of grammar?

And the prices do not include sales tax as some other poster mentioned. They're 200 USD more expensive and the tax has to be added, that's another 15%.

US companies should hire real Mexicans for their Spanish translations and not linguistically challenged "latinos".

Apple doesn't come to Mexico because we're scary!!!! BOOOOOO!!!

And a note to the Spaniard friend: we call them computers (computadoras) because they compute not sorters (ordenadores), they don't only sort. We could call them computador, masculine, but then again they're machines (maquinas) and that's feminine.

Very good news for Mexico. Here in Brazil we have the most costly iPod ( http://www.news.com/iPods-Cheap-in-Canada,-costly-in-Brazil/2100-1041_3-6151110.html?tag=nefd.top ). Any rumors about a brazilian store?
