The Apple Store is... up? Isn't it Tuesday?

Walk back with me through the nostalgia of the past two months:

2008 has been updaterriffic for Apple, every Tuesday like clockwork. So what about today? The store is up, and nothing new has dropped. Maybe this Thursday's special event counts for the week -- or maybe we've been deluding ourselves about the longevity of Apple's run of Super Tuesdays. Tell us what you think in the comments.

Walk back with me through the nostalgia of the past two months: January 8. New Mac Pros and Xserve January 15. Macworld Expo,...

So, Erica, how much did this non-news post put in your pocket?

Customer service, mate. It gives us something to post about. Onto the 3rd page of posts. She's giving us a forum for our obsession. If no one posted then that would indicate the consumer didn't want non-news posts. But that's not what blogs are for. If she gets paid for the post that draws eyes to the website and its sponsors, then it is because she's serving her customers.

My wife is in public relations, and Apple's Tuesday updates strategy is the talk of the town. She tells me that this open secret is part of a purposeful retail push by Apple. It's a focus-grouped, well-researched strategy that will not be going away soon, given what they invested.

Sadly, even knowing this, I will continue to flock to TUAW to check the latest updates every Tuesday, like the happy, happy Apple sheep that I am.

By the way, my 15" MacBook Pro (latest version) arrived yesterday, and I'm in heaven. I also have the big aluminum iMac at work, and I'm trying to figure out an excuse to get a Mini (if it survives as a product line) to use as a media center at home.

Official confirmation from Apple (not only o2), that the iPhone will be in Ireland on the 14th (apple.com/ie/iphone). No Canada love, Steve?

Well, if an iWork update counts, shouldn't the iPhoto and Garageband update count that was released earlier today?

as charles points out - the nike+ announcement is a fairly significant one for those of us that use the kit but have to migrate indoors during the winter months...

the 1/29 updates are too much of a stretch. that date broke the streak, but the blogs kept up the urban myth.

They should have saved yesterday's Garageband update for today to keep you Tuesday people happy.

Looks like that streak was broken on January 29. I don't see why you'd count the iWork point releases and not other app point releases.
