The Apple Store is... up? Isn't it Tuesday?
Walk back with me through the nostalgia of the past two months:
January 8. New Mac Pros and Xserve
January 15. Macworld Expo, MacBook Air, Apple TV 2, etc.
January 22. Pink nanos
January 29. New iWork updates
February 5. Storage boost for iPhone and touch
February 12. Aperture 2
February 19. New shuffle pricing and new 2 GB model
2008 has been updaterriffic for Apple, every Tuesday like clockwork. So what about today? The store is up, and nothing new has dropped. Maybe this Thursday's special event counts for the week -- or maybe we've been deluding ourselves about the longevity of Apple's run of Super Tuesdays. Tell us what you think in the comments.

I think there may have been some sort of laptop refresh in there as well... Hard to remember...
Time Capsule is probably what could have gone in this Tuesday spot though. Thursday it is!

It seems like everyone's been thinking they're aiming for a weekly release of at least one significant product/software/update. So with the media event Thursday I think that'll be this week's "new thing". I'm sure there will be plenty of post-its on Tuesdays to come. Who knows...maybe we'll even see some on other days.

Like atuck said, I think you're missing something obvious on Feb 26.
Also Feb12 included 10.5.2. (granted, that was no reason to close the store, but it was *kinda* significant).

Well, they do have their event on Thursday for the SDK. So I think it's obvious not to expect anything today.

Apple did make an announcement today.
"The companies announced Tuesday that they are working with gym equipment manufacturers and health clubs to allow members to plug their iPod Nano into cardio equipment to track workouts, set goals and upload the information to a Nike Web site."

I'm over here in my corner crying like a ninny.
Why won't Apple keep it going? WHY? WHY?!!?!

You mean the purple iPod shuffle that Apple has sold for 6 MONTHS already?

iPhone Thursday counts for this week, in my mind. Especially if the 3G iPhone is announced on Thursday (haven't seen rumors on this, I just think it would be a great surprise). Hopefully the updated iMac will be next Tuesday (my money is ready).

Yes, I am aching for a new iMac refresh, however I'm not holding my breath (although my money is also at the ready).

You're not going to see any 3G announcement unless they're ready to sell them. Why in the world would they cannibalize their current sales with an announcement like that? They're not ready with a 3G phone, and you won't hear about it until they are ready to sell.

They won't make a 3G iPhone until the 3G technology becomes more efficient. Apple could have easily included the ability to connect to the 3G network, but if they did, your battery on your iPhone would be sucked up so fast the thing would never sell. Until 3G becomes more efficient on power usage, iPhones will remain on the EDGE network and I expect that to be quite a while.

Steve said (or implied) there would be something new once a week, not necessarily every Tuesday. I'm not worried. Excited to hear what they say on Thursday.

My bad! I was thinking that was the rumored thing. It was the iPod nano that was rumored to be purple.
