New Apple Store coming to Leicester
Apple will open a new UK store in Leicester on September 4th. The 577 square metre store will be located in the Highcross Leicester development along with 119 others, 15 restaurants and 3000 parking spaces. The new store joins others in Birmingham, Manchester, Solihull and Sheffield to provide pretty good coverage for the whole region. Thanks to John Coxon for the tip!

England isn't a region, Manchester is very far from leicester. A cool 118 Miles in total. I really don't like americans who think London makes the main part of England.

Jasper, as an Englishman who shares your concerns about international understanding of geography, I can wholeheartedly agree. By "region" I meant "the region bounded by Birmingham, Manchester, Solihull and Sheffield," which of course you and I (but not all of our international friends) would know be the Midlands.

That's fair enough.
Apologies, I assumed this was a solely American run website.

Giles Turnbull is one of the more British sounding names I've ever heard. It doesn't even sound remotely American.
Is the term "cold busted" well known in English parlance?
Jasper Paterson said 4:25AM on 7-19-2008
Riiiiiiiight. Just because someone's name sounds English that must obviously make them English.
That George Bush, his name sounds rather English. Perhaps he's just pretending.

Well not only that, but the author spelled out "metres" instead of the Americanized "meters". Taking those two things together, it's obvious there's a pretty high likelihood that the author might actually be from Britain.
In the future, be certain you're right before starting a row by saying something nasty.

Understandable, Dr. Funke, however my prior comment seems to have been misconceived as spite. I merely attempted to vent my opinion concerning an annoyance where many U.S. Citizens are geographically unaware of the world outside of the states. Thankfully it appears that we do not have that problem with yourself.

There's one opening in Victoria Square in September, it's been common knowledge for months.

You know, right now i'm sitting about 50 metres away from Victoria Square, so i really should know that. About time though!

scrubby little city?
Leicester is surely the greatest place in the universe! It's a bit wierd seeing it on a blog though!
I think this is great news as my Dad can go there instead of annoying me everytime his Macbook Air mucks up.

I totally agree Stephen. Anyway in thy region would be great. I live in Middlesbrough and a store there would be well placed to support the York and Newcastle areas but any store in the north east would be nice since the north east of England has none

Sorry to be picky but lumping in Sheffield and Manchester with the Midlands is stretching it a bit, whilst Manchester is on the wrong side of the Pennines I'll think you'll find even the good folk of the Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire won't class it as the midlands.
