Announcing the winner of our Fake Apple Invite Contest

Well done, TUAWers! Not only did you impress us with your terrific entries (and shame the authors of those other fake invites), your psychic/creative energy actually prompted Apple to host a real press event in the month of February!*
Seriously, we really enjoyed reviewing all of your entries at our secret offices in the Love Lounge at Pixar. Some of you went for that cryptic subtlety that Apple is known for, others went for humor and still others made the obscure reference that only a true geek would catch. It was a tough decision, but we've made it. Find out who won after the jump.
*This last part may not be true.
Update: Here is a Flickr gallery of our 20 finalists.

Congratulations to Mute Matt, author of the "I Think I'm in Love" invite! It's appropriate for the month of February, it's cryptic and leading (what am I "in love" with? What do hearts have to do with Apple? Would could this possibly be alluding to?), the art is great and it really makes us want to know what's next. Matt: Please drop us a line via our tips page so what we may get your shipping information.
Thanks to all who sent in fake invites. They really were fun to peruse!

Although I didn't win, I made it on the collage! The invite under detective dude, the one with the "Apple squares". Glad you guys like it to feature it on the collage :).
Congrats to Mute Matt on the winning of this fun contest.

Pfft. I didn't want that stupid mug anyway. ;-)
Next time you need categories: funniest, most authentic-looking, the-one-we-wish-were-true, etc.

That was really the winner? Personally, I think it's a lil too simple, but to each his/her own. Best - www.camination.com - New iMac Community Site!

No offense to the guy who made that, but there were much better ones, in my opinion that actually looked like real, cryptic Apple invites (the 30 New Things one and the MacBook one). I can't imagine Apple ever sending out a pink invitation with hearts on it. Oh, and it comes from iPhoto 6...

Yeah, that's wack that the winner copped that from iPhoto. I used that card to charm the heck out of my girlfriend for VDay. Although, I didn't order my card... I SnapzPro'd it, and then PS'd it. Boo yah!!

The winner's entry is nice and simple, just the job! Who cares if it took 5 minutes to make, competitions like this shouldn't be limited to those with super good Photoshop skills.
I did plan on entering, but I never got my entry of the sketchpad as I have waaay too much uni work at the moment. Bah!
Well done Matt!

Shucks, I didn't even make it into the finals.
Perhaps it's because mine was very bad :)
Or I forgot to use rounded corners.
Anyone want to let me know what they think of it?
