Complete Yale courses now on iTunes U
What a great opportunity to brush up on controversies in Astrophysics, Game Theory, or France since 1871. Apple and Yale University have partnered to bring complete Yale courses to iTunes U and they are free for the clicking.Apple was already offering significant quantities of lectures and interviews from Yale, but now complete courses are being offered for free. For now, there are 13 complete courses online, one subject area is composed of about 40-50 separate podcasts. That's a lot of information and precious knowledge.
If learning about the American Novel since 1945, or Biomedical Engineering is your thing, click right on over. There is probably something on the list you'll find interesting, to say nothing of the many great lectures.
The twists and turns of the digital revolution have been breathtaking to watch. From my home, an office, sitting at an airport, or riding along in a car, bus, plane or train I can take my favorite music, movies, or listen to experts relate the latest discoveries about Black Holes of the history of Psychology. What a world.

I am glad to see that they are joining the ranks of Harvard and Stanford.

When I click on a course name in iTunes I'm redirected to an authentication page back in my web browser asking for my "NetID" and password. Any suggestions?

I think it's the ID and password needed to use Yale online student services.

When this happens- just click "Get" in iTunes again and it will begin downloading.

Ayle, sorry for not being clear with my request. I was actually wanting suggestions for getting to the actual course within iTunes and avoid being redirected to the authentication page.

yale's open courseware is amazing. i'm taking the game theory course at the moment, and it is very well taught. i highly recommend them.
one problem that i have with these itunes offerings, though, is that they are a listing of the low-quality videos (about 250mb each) instead of the high-quality ones (about 500mb). the high-quality ones are much more useful, since on the low-quality version, you have trouble reading the board. i know that they have blackboard notes available for download on their website, but i find that looking at those while trying to watch the lecture and take notes myself is annoying.
other than that, i think this is a great addition to the itunes u offerings. big kudos to apple and yale for that!

Beautiful. So much so, I illustrated the sentiment on a brick wall near my home. The light rain made it look like paint, and so breathtaking was it, that I decided to take a picture with my iPhone and send it to my friends around NY. Nearly all of them basked in the wonder -- of viewmymessage.com/2, and the utter failure of trying to log in and see anything while home, in an office, sitting at an airport, or riding along in a car, bus, plane or train. we're only going to die of our own arrogance.

Not beautiful ! This service can't be used without iTunes and it could be done with RSS and common readers as good as it could be done with iTunes. Apple is creating a new monopoly.

That's beautiful. I can listen to the recordings, and it's possible to download them, but I can't find a XML feed:
http://oyc.yale.edu/physics/fundamentals-of-physics/content/downloads
, which would be useful to integrate these courses with my podcatcher.
Anyways: great service ! Thanks for making these recordings available.
