Apple to announce iAd mobile advertising platform

Earlier this month, Apple posted a job listing that hinted at mobile advertising. Steve Jobs had strong words for Google when he told employees "We did not enter the search business. They [Google] entered the phone business." It was always interesting that Jobs never said anything about Apple not entering the ad business. Perhaps this is why. If iAds are announced on April 7th, you can bet Google will have some strong reactions to it. But who knows, maybe Steve was trying to break the iAd news to Eric Schmidt gently over that coffee the other day?

Is anyone else getting really sick of this whole "i + name" formula for Apple's new product launches? Now they are going to have iPods, iPads and iAds out there at the same time. Not that I really imagine anyone other than my great grandmother getting them mixed up, but that's not the point. Overkill is.

Why is Eric Schmidt sitting like a school boy with his hands between his legs. he seems to be trying to contain hi excitement, meeting his idol? Jobs on the other hand seems relaxed. I can't imagine why they would meet in a public place where they can be paparazzied.
sorry but I couldn't help comment.

Steve has the luxury of wearing whatever he likes
without concern about what others think.

Obviously those of you who are suggesting he change what he wears are very affected by what others think.

I think the photo is either from an earlier time or has been photo shopped.
The only other explanation is that Schmidt called to say that Google was dropping android or that Google was offering Apple some substantially beneficial financial deal.

Wow, Steve really understands branding... to the point where he knows if he goes anywhere without the black cotton long sleeves, blue jeans, black socks and sneakers that it will throw off the branding. Just goes to show that this guy really does, live, eat, breath and wear apple.

It's advertising, and thus cannot be cool in any way, even if it has an Apple logo slapped on it.

I understand that there are people out there busting their ass to make ends meet. Nice clothing can get expensive and they don't always have the disposable income to buy new clothes and look respectable. Steve Jobs is not one of those people.

For god's sake Steve. You need assistance. Wear a shirt with buttons or a collar for once. Loose the black socks and sneekers. It's bordering on pathalogical. This behaviour is more disturbing to me that his supposed in-office tirades.

Even the Dalai Llama has a better fashion sense than Jobs.

Man.

Apple would do it in its own style, something that Google doesn't have one inch of. They can't be competitors, as one of them is stylish, and the other one is style-less.

If one of them sticks to web ads, and the other one sticks to in-app ads, they won't step on each other toes.
