iLife updates abound in Software Update
Fire up
Software Update, folks, as the iLife apps have received a boost. Specifically, iPhoto is at version 6.0.1, iDVD is at
6.0.1, iWeb reaches version 1.0.1 and the all-mighty iTunes has 6.0.3 ready to go. According to Apple, specifics on
each update are as follows:iPhoto 6.0.1:
"This update to iPhoto resolves issues with photocasting, viewing thumbnails in large libraries, and ordering cards, calendars and books. It also addresses a number of other minor issues."
iDVD 6.0.1:
"This update to iDVD 6 resolves issues with integration with the other iLife applications, importing of legacy projects and some theme related issues. It also addresses a number of other minor issue"
iWeb 1.0.1:
"This update to iWeb 1.0 addresses issues related to publishing and blogs. It also addresses a number of other minor issues."
iTunes 6.0.3:
"iTunes 6.0.3 includes stability and performance improvements over iTunes 6.0.2."
Thanks to all the TUAW readers who sent this in!
Update: iMovie (6.0.1) has been added as well. Thanks, Taylor!

Do you know if iWeb will ever allow for html editing? Even in simple forms.

I hate it when they leave it at "includes stability and performance improvements". They are basically saying... your too dumb to understand.
And sometimes extra features show up unannounced, like video-sharing, TV-Type, Podcast Management etc.

Well, I'm hanging out for the iMovie update... I guess the beta like revision that got sent out originally is taking a little longer to fix than the rest of the iLife apps updated today! ;-)

Hey Dave D,
A friend had that same problem on her iBook. After some digging around at the Apple Knowledge Discussion pages I figured out that "Network Startup" had somehow been selected in the Startup Disk control panel in System Prefs. Check to see if yours is, in fact, pointing to the OS X folder and NOT the Network Startup disk icon (unless, of course, you use Network Startup, in which case I don't know what else the problem could be)

They still haven't fixed the 'Options + Prices' link in iPhoto when clicking on 'Book'. At least if you live outside the USA they haven't; link takes you to apple.com and I'm in the UK so dollar pricing is of no use to me.

When is Apple going to let me publish to my FTP at school????? That would be really nice. Really really nice.

Unfortunately, I built a 310-photo slideshow of a Hawaii trip in iMovie HD and cannot turn off the Ken Burns effect, even on individual photos.
When I use the method suggested in the Help system (clicking on the photo, clicking on Media, clicking on Photos, clicking on Show Photo Settings, UNclicking the Ken Burns effect, clicking on Update, saving the project (does any of this sound ridiculous?) and playing the slide again, yields no change.
Does any body know how I can individually turn off Ken Burns for specific photos???

Further addendum to iMovie problem:
I called Apple and their tech tried several things, all of which worked on his computer. Together, we decided that my movie was corrupted in some way.
I wound up having to start over in a new iMovie project. But it worked. The moral may be, when in doubt, reconstruct. :-)
