Best Buy touts its Apple store within a store

Best Buy is an authorized Apple reseller, and it wants its customers to know that this holiday shopping season. The retailer's latest ad focuses on a customer who just discovered Best Buy sells all the hottest Apple gifts. The edgy commercial pits the customer who purchased all her gifts from Best Buy, against Santa who arrived too late to put anything under the tree.

Not all Best Buy locations carry Apple products, but those that do are a valuable resource for Apple owners. Best Buy carries most Apple products including the iPhone, iPod, MacBook Pro and the iMac. The retailer also lines its shelves with Apple-compatible accessories for those in a pinch who need a case or screen protector right away. It's also a launch partner and carried both the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 on the first day of sales. Best Buy may not be your first place to go for all things Apple, but it should be on your short list.

Agreed the general sentiment of past posters, Best Buy is not the best shopping experience.

I only buy things at Best Buy when I know exactly what I want (down to the inventory number listed on the website), I have them pull it aside for pickup, and I pay face to face so I can double check the transaction. I take none of the special offers, or cards, or gifts. It was not very reassuring when the cashier flummoxed the register prior to me swiping my credit card, fortunately it was before any of my transaction information was entered and the manager reset/unlocked or whatever you do to registers. Aside from that was in and out as fast as possible.

Hopefully I won't have to set foot in one for another year or more. *is enjoying new optoma ml500 projector*

Also something to note, Best Buy likes to "optimize" the computers they get in stock before selling them to customers. I recently picked up a new Mac and of the 9 they had in stock of that model, there was only 1 that Geek Squad had not already "optimized".

There not suppose to touch any mac product. Call Apple and report the store you went to. Cause that is a huge violation of policy.

I bought my Macbook Pro at Best Buy this past July using their student discount and their $100 back to school gift card program (matching Apple's). I used the gift card towards a new iPad, and this was the only reason I went to Best Buy rather than an Apple Store. I had such a horrible experience, they overcharged my credit card by several hundred dollars, and their unknowledgeable employees took very long to resolve it. They also knew very little about Apple products, and I witnessed an older couple being pressured into purchasing tons of Geek Squad services with their new iMac. Best Buy is only good when you go in knowing exactly what you want. Otherwise, an Apple Store is a wiser choice.

Actually I think Best Buy sells every single Apple product but Apple Store exclusives like Product RED.

Be warned. Bestbuy.com totally screwed up a purchase I made last Thursday.

Bought the iTunes $100 gift card for $80. They emailed me a confirmation of the purchase (step 1). I was supposed to get a second email with the actual iTunes PIN number (step 2) so I could buy stuff on Friday in iTunes store. NEVER got the PIN.

Spent 1.5 hrs. with 6 different BestBuy online customer service reps (no kidding!) none of whom could do one of two simple tasks: either cancel the order and issue refund to my CC or simply resend a PIN. Net result is "we have your money, but we can't do anything about getting you what you paid for". LAST TIME I shop Best Buy. Hope other online customers have better luck.

I have exactly the same issue with the promo iTunes gift card. I've not received the redemption code after nearly 5 days and a call to BB support garnered me essentially a 'we're sorry but there's nothing we can do for you.'

I feel your pain, man. I finally had to call my CC bank who graciously credited my account and promised to take the fight to Best Buy on my behalf for the "non-delivered" product I purchased. What really galled me about this fiasco was the syrupy on-hold message from Best Buy's CEO thanking me profusely for my business. Yeah, RRRRRIGHTTTT. It's really an unconscionable position they took with you, and with me. In so many words, "We're sorry, but we're going to rip you off". Really?
